We HIGHLY recommend Courtney and Mike!! We love our photos. We loved working with them. They're great people. We loved their simplicity and natural style. Courtney doesn’t over process photos-- She doesn’t need to because she catches the best light and is thoughtful about her work. Some of many things my husband and I really liked about The Compass Points Here was that 1) Courtney and Mike really cared about doing the best job possible and were extremely flexible and patient with us 2) Courtney and Mike do all their own processing and editing. Some other photographers just take the pictures and ship it out. 3) They are creative and capture your wedding day perfectly. They really listen to what you want and are honest about what is realistic and feasible. Courtney and Mike were very flexible in meeting us at different locations (in Traverse City, Detroit, Brighton) to discuss timing, schedules, and products. They are were very quick to respond to anything we needed. When we wanted to schedule our engagement session in the middle of knee deep snow in the woods of Traverse City, Courtney was on board! We also asked Mike to be our videographer. While video wasn’t a high priority for us, they decided to add an extra camera person because they wanted to make sure they were going to do a great job for us. We couldn't have asked for a better duo to photograph our special day! From our engagement session, to our wedding, Courtney communicated with us throughout the entire planning process to make sure that they captured our memories perfectly, and just how we envisioned them. Courtney and Michael are the kindest couple, and it was a pleasure to work with them and to share our special day with them! Our photos are stunning, and I'm so glad that we entrusted this important job to them.

Hire them. From engagement photos, to wedding photos, to maternity photos they have been amazing. My wife originally found them when we were planning our wedding and booked them immediately upon seeing their photography online. They have such a talent for capturing the amazing moments and emotions through these photoshoots. We have hired them for many moments in our lives and will continue to hire them. They are amazing photographers, and such amazing people. I would recommend them hands down to anyone looking for a photographer for any event.

It's been a year since our wedding and we still think so highly of Courtney and Michael at The Compass Points Here. We are so thankful to have superior, high quality images and video to look back on year after year. With having a beach wedding you can assume complications and not only did Courtney and Michael photograph the event perfectly, but they also assisted with technical difficulties like losing power and audio issues (not their fault, poor wedding planner!). That's the sort of team they are: they go above and beyond for their clients. Even though you know they are busy because they are so sought out, you never feel like just another client. Courtney and Michael make you feel comfortable leading up to, on the day of your wedding and for long afterwards. We would highly recommend their team to anyone, hands down. Picking them was the best choice we made for our wedding (other than picking each other!).

I'm so glad that we picked The Compass Points Here to photograph our wedding! They were flexible, accommodating, and their experience in the wedding industry was so helpful in planning our day.  They do their research on wedding and reception venues to plot out good place to take pictures and they are so flexible with the inevitable wedding-day schedule changes.  The photos turned out beautifully-- we were and still are so happy with the images.  I especially love the candid photos! I HIGHLY recommend The Compass Points Here. Do not look elsewhere! They were friendly, creative, and accommodating. They communicated so well during the planning and gave advice whenever we asked. They took the time to meet with us in person to go over the timeline and answer questions. In addition, they are extremely talented and create high quality videos. Hiring them for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning.

Courtney and Michael are amazing! They made us feel comfortable working with them from the first time we talked to them. They were willing to travel to Chicago for our wedding and they even got here the day before to scout good locations for pictures. We did both our engagement shoot and wedding with them, which I would recommend for ladies who have fiances who aren't used to getting their pictures taken. It helped my now husband be more comfortable on the day of our wedding. Also, they kept us on track with our timeline for the day of the wedding without pushing us from one place to the next, the whole experience was FUN! They captured some seriously unforgettable moments in our ceremony and during dinner. They stayed all the way until my husband and I were getting lifted up on the dance floor. Amazing team! We loved every second of working with Courtney and her husband; from the first planning phone call, to our engagement session, to our wedding! They are amazing and anyone who gets to work with them is soooo lucky! Not only talented, but fun to be around!

We hired Courtney and Michael for our Northern Michigan wedding because we loved the look of their portfolio--an eye for natural beauty, good light, and meaningful private moments between friends and family--and because we knew they'd be great to spend our wedding day with. Not only did they meet our expectations; they exceeded them by leaps and bounds! Courtney and Michael did such a wonderful job creating a video of our wedding! They were very easy to work with and were open to any requests we had. The video is amazing and captured each moment of our wedding ceremony perfectly. The personal touch to the video items was so cute, they will be a great keepsake to watch for years to come.
