École La Vérendrye School

Past member of the school wishing to remain (somewhat) anonymous. At the time of writing this review I am a senior in high school.Truth be told, I enjoyed the ten years I spent at La Vey. I have some really fond memories of a lot of the friends and relationships I built from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Unfortunately, my Grade 9 year took a massive turn for the worse and my fraught relationships with a couple of the teachers caused me a lot of mental health issues.For the sake of my own health I dropped from La Vey and left for a different high school for my Grade 10 year, where I am still enrolled. Three months after my exit I developed several medical issues which I've been in and out of the hospital for, including depression, anxiety, and Crohn's disease. My family doctor believes the latter was partially brought on (I believe was her wording, but she could have also said it was worsened) by the stresses of my time within the year leading up to diagnosis, which aligns with when everything began to fall apart at this school.Despite my love for the place and a lot of the staff and students still there, part of me can't help but selfishly blame it for causing me a lot of unnecessary medical issues. Part of me wonders how my life would have shaped out if I had remained without all the tension that Grade 9 had provided to me. To parents considering La Vey for their children, I would still highly recommend it. Please don't take a couple reviews here too harshly, nor take my experience as a definitive be-all, end-all. I have a lot of fond memories here, even if my last year did taint a bit of it.
