Seeing the world In a different way

The Canadian Warplanes Heritage museum is a fantastic place to go to. Seeing these vintage aircraft on display is amazing. The hangar is full of Canadian military aviation history that everyone should go and see. The staff and volunteers are so friendly and have lots of stories about the history of these aircraft. The hangar is very clean and you can even go for a ride in one of their vintage aircraft. You can jump into the pilot seat of some display aircraft, look at the avionics instruments, learn about aircraft technology, like engines/ ejection seats/ armament, and see how museum staff and volunteers are restoring these vintage aircraft back into an airworthy condition. You may like seeing the beautiful art pinups girls or wacky characters that was painted on the aircraft's nose to boost morale of airmen and airwomen who served in Canada's armed forces.I loved going here and you will too. If you like my reviews, videos or photos let your thumb soar high in the sky.

This is one of the absolute best things to do in Hamilton. It's a fascinating look at the aviation technologies and hardware throughout the RCAF history, and to be able to get a good look and information about the planes. The staff is VERY knowledgeble and also very friendly. You can book flights on some of the historic planes, but we chose not to. Also on dry days there are some other planes outside the building, we missed out as we were visiting during a downpour.A great place to take kids too.

A truly outstanding area, so unique and rich with history. There is something special about this museum, the volunteers who work here are full with enthusiasm about the planes. This is a fantastic learning experience for all tourists or enthusiasts in the local area. I definitely recommend this place.Big thanks to Rick and the Scottish gentleman (sorry, I didn’t get his name) who educated me on the history on the lancaster plane and many others. Amazing.

ADDING TO THE PREVIOUS REVIEW:This past Sunday the CANADIAN WARPLANE HERITAGE MUSEUM hosted the WINGS AND WHEELS show, a FABULOUS exhibition of spectacular VINTAGE AUTOMOBILES from every decade and from many countries that sat beside the beautiful aircraft in the CWHM's collection. The cloudy weather held back the rain for the massive crowds through the day, but I was certainly glad I got there right at the 9 a.m. opening. The RUNWAY CAFE, as always, was just as popular (and PACKED) with ground crews, participants , volunteers and visitors who were treated to VERY REASONABLY PRICED and freshly home-cooked egg and bacon breakfast sandwiches ($6) and hearty boxed breakfasts ($10) and washed down with delicious coffee.THE NEW FLY ZONE is quite a treat!!!!!!!A virtual reality experience which lets 'you fly" either a P-51 MUSTANG or an F-18 HORNET JET FIGHTER (we did the MUSTANG) and the motion of the chair just does a wonderful job of enhancing the game.Half hour is $30 and we went first thing Friday morning so we had the complete attention of the very helpful and cheery Dwhitney who helped us through our missions.I might have a few "tweaks" to suggest for the next time such as rolling the targets more quickly though so we wouldn't seem to be spending so much time tracking down our targets. But a great time......and you get a free admission to the WARPLANE HERITAGE MUSEUM so it is well worth the trip!!!!Definitely suggest you make your reservations during the less busy weekdays if you can (Closed Mondays & Tuesdays). And another hour or more for the museum after.Good food in the RUNWAY CAFE as well."

This has been the most amazing experience I’ve ever been to in Canada. Every single person that works there interacted with nothing with positivity and love and care about the place and also educated. I won hundred percent recommend this place but also to bring your kids to teach them.Thank you for an amazing tour and I cannot wait to go back again.

Plenty to see and do, especially for plane enthusiasts.Get up close to some of history's iconic aircraft, take a peek inside a few of them, and for an extra cost, take a flight on one of the several planes on site.Soar the skies in a bi-plane, or feel the experience of flying in a bomber. It is all available at the Warplane Heritage Museum.
