Would highly recommend Shawn and his team for any event you're hosting!!! I've worked with them several times through work and chose them to take care of the music for our wedding ceremony, dinner and reception. We had Step By Step Pro DJ as our Wedding DJ Company and they were truly outstanding! Our family loves to dance and Shawn and his team did not disappoint! They had our dancefloor packed until the very end of the night. I could not recommend a better DJ company!

Shawn and Step by Step DJ worked our wedding at Trillium Trails in Spring of 2022. We couldn't have been happier with our experience. Shawn took some very specific song requests and made it happen on the day of the wedding. Our wedding danced from the first song to the last song and that's a testament to the variety of music choices that Shawn made.I would highly recommend Shawn and Step by Step DJ to anyone looking for a DJ for a wedding or any sort of event.

My husband and I booked Shawn after receiving his information from the coordinator at our wedding venue and I'm so glad we chose him. We were living in Alberta while planning our wedding in Ontario so we were not able to meet with Shawn until two weeks before the wedding. Up until that point we communicated primarily via e-mail. Shawn responded to our questions very quickly and was extremely easy to work with. When we finally met with Shawn we were very impressed with his enthusiasm and commitment to our ideas for our wedding. The online event planning tool which allowed us to select our music choices was very easy to use and made it easy to adjust details such as our timeline and song choices as we moved forward with the planning process. Shawn provided music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He played every song and style of music exactly as we requested, and when we didn't have any requests the music that he selected fit perfectly for our wedding. He also served as our emcee and did a fantastic job! He has a fun, outgoing personality and definitely knows how to work a room. Our guests had a fantastic time at our reception and I know that is in large part due to Shawn. Additionally, we booked an open air photo booth through Shawn which provided guests with an abundance of props to use and printed out photo strips as keepsakes. This was a huge hit with our guests! It was a lot of fun and at the end of the night we were given a USB which contained high-resolution copies of every photo taken in the booth that night. The total cost for both the Platinum DJ package and for the photo booth was under $2000, which I thought was very reasonable and certainly worth it for the excellent service that we received.

Booked this dj for our wedding of almost 300 people. While the dance floor was full the dj did not play what the bride and groom specifically asked for. The online portal that allows you to submit your songs didn’t have the most updated music so we were told to send an email and the songs would be provided. Happy that at least 3 of them were played. Disappointed that traditional family songs are were not played for a traditional wedding. We even had family from out of town who would have loved the songs we chose. Would recommend this dj for a school dance or corporate event where he can play his own material but playing specific important and meaningful songs that we asked for were not considered. It was clearly evident that the email provided was not even looked at until the day of the event. Doubt this review will even stay as oddly only 5 star reviews are kept.

Our experience with Shawn was prolonged by the pandemic but he was a phenomenal partner throughout. Shawn's considerable expertise and knowledge of the industry helped us make many decisions and reduced our stress. He was very flexible and adapted so well to several changes throughout planning and even some requests that came to him on the wedding day. As our MC and DJ, his incredible level of professionalism and upbeat nature helped take everyone through the day's activities while also making it enjoyable and engaging for all. We wouldn't hesitate to work with him again or to recommend him to others!

Shawn DJ’d and MC’d our wedding on July 8th and I am SO happy that we had the chance to work with him. Right off the bat during the consultation stage, Shawn was professional and answered every possible question that I had (which there were many!) He has a very kind and gentle nature to him and I really picked up on that and noticed it right away. You will NOT be disappointed by booking Shawn at any of your events. On July 14th we had the pleasure of having Shawn DJ our wedding. Shawn is without question a TRUE PROFESSIONAL. Not only did he do everything possible to help a busy bride feel at ease and like she had one less thing to think about, he did so much to coordinate with the venue, the videography team, the photographer, the MC, and two performers that we had. Shawn was so key in keeping our wedding timeline on track and wrangling up all of our guests for critical moments. The dance floor was SOOOO FUNNNN. We got sooo many compliments on our music and Shawn was amazing at reading our crowd. He was super flexible, and so easy to work with.
