I love King's Ridge Veterinary Clinic. We switched from another vet a few years ago and are so glad we did! Dr. Barb always takes the time to explain what's going on with your pets and the staff feel like family. Everyone gets down on the floor to play with your dog to make them feel comfortable and welcomed. This is the first vet in many years where my aging dog isn't nervous and never needs to be muzzled even with shots. She loves going to see Dr. Barb and friends!

We have had a lot of vets over the years but Dr Winslow puts the rest to shame. She is so knowledgeable yet constantly studies the latest in veterinary medicine. She takes time to explain everything and explain options. Her compassion for animals is so strong. She has saved the lives of several of our pets and helped us let some go peacefully when it was time.Vets in Canada have a harder time with the public because we don’t pay directly for our care. I heard one person complain about being charged $200 for an x-Ray saying that was really expensive. For a human without OHIP, the average x-ray costs $1366. MRI are $340-2100. CT are $280-2700, ultrasound average in $410. A friend in the US broke her arm. Nothing major. Over $10,000.Vets are running a business. If it doesn’t make money, it closes. Would you take a child into the dentist and get angry if they gave you an estimate for x-rays and dental surgery but you couldn’t afford it? Would you accuse them of not caring about kids?Vets have one of the highest rates of suicide. Dealing with the general public is the reason why. If people did a little research (5 minutes for me to find non OHIP prices) and used a little logic (not all animals can be saved and you wouldn’t refuse payment to a doctor if a patient dies) maybe they would appreciate vets and stop treating them so badly.

The team at King's Ridge Vet Clinic is extremely responsive, either by phone, email or in person. They always answer the phone or find a way to get back to me within a couple of hours. Also, they accommodate emergency situations quickly by making time to see my pet as soon as possible, and are extremely helpful with any questions I have - big or small. On top of it all, they are very friendly and my puppy has a great time when we're there!

I am not reviewing based on the service but the only price. They charge $150 just for a physical exam exclusive of any medications, this is while other clinics charge around $60 to $100. Fair enough though, They know they prices are so high that they warn you before booking. Although that doesn't justify it.

I would highly recommend Dr Barbara Winslow! We got a dachshund puppy in April, she was 8 weeks old. In a few days we noticed her scratching her ear. It was some mild irritation. We tried some antiseptics with no response. It was our first time looking for a vet. Dr Winslow was the one who was available at that time. She examined our dog and her initial conclusion was a localized infection of the ear. On the same date she contacted us saying that she was suspecting something more serious and diagnosed our Bella with juvenile cellulitis which is very rare autoimmune disorder. Our dog was so sick and at some point I even lost a hope she would recover. Dr Winslow ordered intensive treatment and was checking on her frequently. She consulted one of veterinarian professors to make sure her treatment was optimal. She forwarded me all replies from the professor. And eventually our Bella recovered fully.I am really happy that I came across this amazing and caring doctor! The clinic itself is very nice, staff is supportive and gentle with animals!I advise everyone to visit this clinic!
