Berwick Scott Stairs

Worse place ever for customer service. I called them for 2 jobs over the last 3 years. They never, ever, returned my calls. When I finally reach them, they told me they would get back to me to book an appointment for an estimate. They never called back. They never came. Showed up to their offices, nobody was there. They have no respect for anybody. Stay away!RESPONSE TO OWNER : I personally called your office at least 4 times, talk to an attendant once who never called me back, and my contractor called your office 5 times and spoke to your attendant twice. Twice they said they would follow up but never did. I spoke to the person who recommended you in Clarence Creek and they told me this is not the first time that they hear this from people who try to call you because you're too busy. If you're too busy, that's fine. But, it's very disrespectful and ethical to drag along people for weeks and months. You have a responsibility to tell them you won't be able to take their business.

DO NOT CONTACT, TERRIBLE Service, NOT RecommendedI had heard nothing but great things about his Stairs. But, had no idea his service was this bad. I first had Scott come over to my house on November 11, 2015 for an estimate. He promised me that he would get back to me in 1 week or so. This time frame was crucial, since stairs was was my Next step in my renovations (I informed him thusly). We also connected well during his visit, since one of his employees had to resign from his company due a life threatening illness that I too also have.Since Nov 11, I have asked Scott (and his extremely rude wife in the office) for my estimate. Every week, he promised that he would have it for me in the next few days. He even mentioned that he would email me, the info while I was in the Hospital. I contacted and chased Scott every week (yes, over 10 times) for my estimate and was promised in a few days every time.Finally, on January 27, I received a quote from Scott. It was in one large lump sum. I asked him (and again his wife) for a slightly more detailed version. Once again, I was promised a prompt response. After repeated phone calls, and promises that I would get it the next day, I received a Note (On Feb 23, 2016) that they are too busy to provide me with a staircase at this time. (I have proof of this via email)In summary, I waited over 3.5 months to get a quote, was promised at least 10 times that the info would be provided to me within a few days. Now my project is delayed by over 4 months because of Scott Berwick Stairs and delayed even more because I need to make another hospital visit.Scott was referred to me by 3 different people. Since they have won some large tenders, they have decided to ignore the 1 time consumer after making me wait over 3.5 months. I would NOT RECOMMEND even contacting this company. This is a total lack of professionalism, customer service and being completely disrespectful of others.He may make a great product, but dealing with his company and his RUDE wife (who hangs up the phone in the middle of a conversation, instead of apologizing) is unacceptable.

Scott did our stairs 20 years ago. His work was first rate, great attitude. Was on time. The stairs are still solid and no squeaks or any rattles. We had a runner on them for when our children were young. We removed the runner, and unfortunately some of the cove moldings were damaged from the staples that the carpet man used to hold the carpet in place. He made us new ones without any problem.He knows his product. I would highly recommend him.Unfortunately some people don't realize that a master craftsman cannot just throw a product together. My brother is a stair and rail expert in Alberta, his projects are booked up to 2 years in advance, and the people plan their project around his availability because they know that they are getting a top quality product. If potential customers don't accept this, he will not take their job on.This is how I view Scott. By the way my brother came from Alberta, and he carefully examined my stairs and said that they are as good as the stairs that he makes.
