Uplift Adventures

We took both navigation courses this last summer with Heather.Aside from been super knowledgeable, she is lots of fun. After taking these courses I understood that some decisions we made in the past while hiking weren't the best; every bit I can learn about been safer in the mountains is precious to me. Plus triangulating on a topographic map is lots of fun.We are now better reading maps to plan our routes.Looking forward to next backcountry camping season to keep taking bearings around :)

We had a fantastic time on the Science Ice Walk with our three children, ages 9, 5, and 5. Heather was a superb guide who kept the kids interested and entertained, and taught us all a lot about the nature and science of the area, and it’s water. The ice falls and rocks were breathtaking, as was the scenery of the entire hike. Heather gave the kids lab coats to add to the fun, along with hot chocolate (with marshmallows) and muffins. Highly recommend to families with children! You will all have a great time, while also learning things you would never learn anywhere else.

In 2022 I've now had two outstanding experiences with Heather and her team at Uplift Adventures. Here's my review of the first one.May 2022 was a two-part Navigation Course headquartered at Castle Mountain Resort, led by Uplift staff member Bronwyn (Employee Of The Month) and backed up by owner/founder Heather. The first evening and following full day was classroom based and old-school practical, starting with a thorough session on paper topographical map interpretation. This was followed by a detailed session on proper use of a magnetic compass for orientation, route finding, and taking multiple bearings to determine your location on the topographical map (resection). We then applied this learning together in the field on a short hike up Haig Mountain. Bronwyn and Heather were fantastic with supporting our 'learning to do by doing'. The next full day was the Tech Navigation session, where we took our freshly polished practical navigation skills and had another morning classroom session working through the various GPS, online, and mobile application based navigation tools. In the afternoon we hiked further up the still snow-laden slopes of Haig and put our new found tech nav skills to the test. Just an excellent course - worth it if you have no experience or (like me) some experience, but you don't know what you don't know.Highly recommended!

As a novice with the outdoors, Heather made my first experience hard to beat. The 10+km hike we took through the mountains in Crowsnest Pass was informative, challenging, beautiful and a great way to spend my Sunday.

Just finished up a 3-day backpacking trip with Uplift and I loved it. I did the Alpine Glow trip with Heather around the Castle Provincial Park area. The scenery was beautiful and the hike was challenging, but with Heather’s help it never felt overwhelming. The food on the trip was very good and there was lots of it, no one was ever hungry that’s for sure. I’ve done lots of hiking, but this was my first backpacking trip and I am so glad that I picked Uplift as the company to go with. Heather shared lots of information with me not just for this trip, but in case I want to do more on my own in the future. She knew lots of tidbits about the area, including history, rocks, the mountains, animals, berries and more. I would definitely recommend Uplift to anyone!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our time with Heather during the Miner's Path Historical tour in Coleman. Walking a mile in a miner's shoes" conveyed the hardships of miners and their families from various perspectives. We also really enjoyed the interactive features of the tour. Heather is knowledgeable

I can’t say enough good things about Heather and Uplift. Heather is warm, caring, funny, and makes everyone in the group feel at ease. She makes sure to tailor the hikes to everyone’s abilities and checks in and supports everyone throughout. She is very prepared and safety-oriented. She is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the land and the mountains, and I have had such a great time learning about all the wildflowers from her. I’ve done Uplift’s beginner hikes, the wildflower walk, and a day hike at Castle, and I hope to do more. They’ve all been fabulous and Heather takes great pictures throughout to share with everyone after. I did one hike with Bronwyn and she was also a fantastic and kind guide. I highly recommend these hikes to anyone who wants to get out in nature, to learn about the area, and to see some amazing trails and views.

Had a guided tour of Waterton National Park with Heather of Uplift Adventures. Heather is the BEST, MOST INFORMED guide! Definitely book with her!! She is well prepared and knows everything there is to know about the area. She is safety minded, I love with the outdoors and is fun too!

It's all in the name. The adventures are so uplifting! Great way to experience nature and meet new friends. Can't wait for the next one!

Heather took our group of 4 out for a late day snowshoe and did not disappoint. She had us interested from start to finish with tales, history, science and lots of laughs.It was a beautiful snowy night made better with tea and muffins supplied by Heather.Would highly recommend her.
