They took a peice of artwork that I love but found at a garage sale for a dollar and made it look absolutely incredible. Friendly and hard working staff, accommodating and clearly passionate about what they do. Would absolutely get artwork framed here again.

We were walking past this store in the mall today and a father and his two young girls walked past the store and his youngest darted inside, the storekeeper immediately ran up to her like an attack dog saying GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT!" as if the little girl was on fire and about to burn the place down. The father asked him why he was being so aggressive and inappropriate towards a child and the storekeeper said she might break something and that the father should keep closer watch over his kids (he was and she just darted away for a second). This escalated to a shouting match between the two as the father defended his young girl from a very nasty storekeeper. I have had about ten oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings and a couple of photographs framed at Yellowbird Arts. I have purchased some of their pre-framed photography and have never been disappointed. I have, however, always been please and impressed with their professional conduct, personable attitudes and high-quality work. I'm certain that Nanaimo has other galleries and frame shops that are equally good, but I can imagine none of them being any better. In short, I have never had reason to look elsewhere for my art, except that I will often purchase my original work at flea markets and that type of thing, because I like to get to know the artist before I make a purchase. Also, I have purchased some art second-hand at quality shops.I am not an artist, but I have always been an art enthusiast, and I was raised in a home where pictorial art was treated with great respect. I have written articles for art magazines online and in print. All this to say that I know what I am doing when it comes to art, appreciating art, understanding art and so on. When I praise Yellowbird Arts Gallery, I know what I am talking about.

My family chose Yellowbird to frame a print of mine as a housewarming gift. The framer did a very poor job, completely missing a very obvious smudge that could have easily been tucked in. When I took the picture in to discuss their error they took no responsibility for their mistake. My print is unhangable and a huge disappointment.

Amazing job. I've gotten three prints framed and yellow bird and I'm always amazed at how well the final piece looks! Knowledgeable and friendly staff as well.

I am very happy with the framing of my mom's portrait, a photo of 1948. I was really leaning on Dave's knowledgeable and expertise and he took the time to advise, suggest and help me find the right frame and size. Which is quite a chore with over a 100's of options.Despite being very busy it was delivered as agreed and timely. Pricing is clear and fair.I was finally able to hang it at the perfect spot today.I also have a few of the Sue Coleman prints he frames and sells. I love them.Thanks so much to Dave and the team!

I can readily say that I love Yellowbird Art Gallery because over the past four years I've had them frame about fifty pieces of artwork (give or take a couple)—and I'm nowhere near finished!What I really like about Yellowbird is the tremendous patience and inventiveness of the staff whenever it comes to helping me make the best decisions about mattes and frame and framing styles.I do not own a single piece of artwork I do not like because these folks simply do stellar work and, if anything isn't up to snuff, they always work with me to make any adjustments or corrections.It is because of the hard work of the staff of Yellowbird that my home is now filled with beauty and colour and it is for this reason that I strongly recommend Yellowbird to anyone who wishes to preserve an important or beautiful piece of art.

Extremely accommodating. Needed something done last minute and Sterling came through with a beautiful frame and I was able to pick it up the same day. Excellent, would recommend to anyone.
