I’ve given this store so many chances but their customer service is awful! Every time I’ve gone in there I walk around, pick up shoes that I’m interested in trying on (or my kids) and never once was approached by staff to see if I needed a size or assistance finding something. Instead, there’s usually one person behind the counter and two on the floor having their own conversation with each other. Each time I’ve left and gone down the hall to another shoe store and purchased the same shoes I was interested in trying on at Soft Moc. Won’t be going back again.

I have been looking to replace my favourite boots for a while now with Dr. Martens. Either not finding what I am looking for, or just haven’t felt happy or comfortable with the service and never ended up purchasing any.I was casually shopping in the mall the other day and had stopped into two prior shoe stores - one that had a pair of Dr. Martens in it that I had been looking at for months now but still just didn’t feel right about them. I go into Softmoc and am looking around - the store is quiet, there are a few customers around me, everyone is happy and receiving the service and attention they needed or wanted. I find a pair of Dr. Martens I had not seen before and instantly liked them, but my size wasn’t available in store. I continued to look around and found a pair I had not previously seen whilst looking and fell in love.I go up to the lady who is working to ask if my size is available, she graciously comes back with my size and one up in case I need it. She gets them out for me to try on, and I go off and try them. Love at first step and sight.The lady who was working was the only associate up front of the store at the time I came in, there were 2-3 other ladies shopping at the same time - this association made (to what I could tell) everyone feel comfortable and very happy with their shopping experience. She was very polite, professional and helpful. She allowed us our space to try our things and made it a much more pleasant shopping experience than stores that have overbearing employees.Though I do not know the name of the lady who served me, my receipt has Cobey24 on it. I just wanted to take the time to share my store experience and that I ended up buying the boots (obviously), could not be happier :)

I been in there many times and I don't even recall that I have ever been greeted once. It's understanding if you're busy but when you have a staff that's organizing or whatever on the floor, they just walk by you and don't say a thing. Whatever. If you don''t want to greet certain people, then that's fine with me.

Wish I could leave 0 stars. This is my experience at softmoc in Cataraqui mall in Kingston ON, on March 26th around noon. To start, when I walked into the store I was not greeted at all, no hello or how can I help you. The employees just stood and stared at me like they didn’t care about my business or my existence. I went up to an employee and asked for help finding a size but she told me she was going on lunch and to ask someone else, I then proceeded to ask a different employee who was not friendly at all, she seemed annoyed that I asked her for a size (which is their job). Long story short they had the shoes I wanted in my size but I decided to not buy them due to the fact that every employee in that store were very rude and disrespectful towards me. Judging by the other reviews I’m not the only one who had a bad experience at this location. But luckily for me Kingston is not in short supply of shoe stores and I brought my business somewhere else. I will no longer support this franchise because of the way they allow their employees to treat customers like this.

i’ve been in here a couple times when it had no customers and wasn’t offered help by any of the associates working. today i was in store (the only customer) and the 5 employees were all just talking to each other. no help was offered at all :(

Every time I go here it's very busy. I've had a few friendly employees help over the time that I've shoped there. The only thing I didn't like is that you don't just have one employee staying with you the whole time, you'll get a few of them helping and it's tough getting their attention.Very good selection of shoes though.

Store employees were rude and argumentative, wouldn't accept a return on shoes that were in acceptable condition based off what their online store told us.After arguing with us, threatened to have security escort us from the building without ever attempting to solve our problem.I repeat, the employees we dealt with were extremely rude and argumentative towards me and my wife (paying customers)Never setting foot in that store ever again.

Horrible service. I waited in front of the boot island for 25 minutes without service. There was customers coming and going but at times there were none and just my girlfriend and I standing there. While 3 employees stood at cash talking. Ignoring us. Just horrendous for a store which revolves around customer service. Obviously nothing has changed in a year, since S H’s review.

Not a good experience for me. Seems to be a trend in other reviews. Four staff there and no one offered help. Hey it was morning coffee time! It was a Sunday with no other shoppers in the store. I found a pair of boots I loved but they didn’t have the colour in my size. No offer to order them in. I even said I could order them in…the girl made no reply. I ended up settling for the same boot but in a colour I wasn’t crazy about. Looking for Birkenstocks today but I won’t be visiting this store.

Why would someone pay $200 plus tax in a self serve store. 5 clerks not one willing to come around and say good morning or could I help you. We went elsewhere bought the same product for less money and the service was excellent
