The Orient

Let me begin by announcing my first (and last) mistake of this day . As this restaurant was literally by the ocean, I assumed it was a fish and chips restaurant, which I had been craving all day, and had purposely tried to miss the ferry departure to get an excuse to eat by the ocean.Upon entering the premises i noticed I was in a Chinese food restaurant. Not quite what I was craving, but hungry as I was, I cared not.The food was quite tasty, and not with the usual flavor one would expect from a Chinese food restaurant; which was nice. The price was affordable, another plus. The service was impeccable and prompt, i could want for nothing more. The only down side for me (despite my failed craving attempt) was the decor.the few ocean related decor on display did not seem very ocean-y" to me

Really good food and reasonable pricing and it was my first time eating here and my dad enjoyed it here too for his first time and really good customer serviceI highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have good food to eat and have someone brighten up your day and leave with a smile on your face.

Bit hit and miss. The sweet and sour pork is mediocre. The ginger beef is awesome. Some dishes come out better than others. Overall more hit than miss. Pretty good, but not great

Found by accident due to a full ferry giving us time to kill. Excellent food, friendly service, and great prices.

Great food!!! If you want fine Chinese, check them out. Don't be discouraged by the dated exterior of the property. The owner and his wife are marvelous people!!! My first job out of high school was there and it taught me a lot about life. Believe me!

We live nearby and the Orient is a favorite. Every time I've picked up our order, the owner is always pleasant to talk with and the food is always yummy and goes well with our couch potato movie night :)Nice location too - right at the Mill Bay Ferry and across from the Brentwood Bay Resort.

I read all the reviews on this place and I'm sorry to say you all must have very low standards this is the 4 th time we have had a bad experience here. the last time we brought our food back in because it was so oily and the egg rolls were empty which I tried to show her and she acted as if I were a difficult customer I shrugged it off and took my refund tried again and the wontons in the war wanton were not even half the size of other places anyhow take what you will from this it's not worth the money
