Banyen carries variety of spiritual, wellness, self help (self development) books as well as tons and tons of cool products including crystals, Himalayan salt lamps, necklaces, etc that are great gifts for friends and family.On top of that, the staff is super helpful and friendly.If you live nearby Kitsilano, definitely come check them out.Keep it up Banyen!

A very well equipped new age department store selling books, audios, and merchandise relevant to new age concept like crystals, yoga products, or religious statues. I spent 3 hours to browse and shop in the store as a first time visitor. A lot to explore if you like new age things. Prices are reasonable. I saw previous review complaining about the customer service. I had similar experience that I bought something fragile, the cashier was a gentleman in senior age just asked me to pay and did not do any wrapping for my fragile merchandise until I requested. This was not a courteous service. Otherwise, everything was alright.

Great energy. Cannot find such a unique spiritual collection in US.I could find books on Hinduism to reiki to alchemy and all Carl Jung collection. A day is not enough.

A wonderland for those who are interested in supernatural stuff. Impressive selection of books, fortune telling cards, faith's symbols etc, with helpful staff.

Staff is always pleasant, polite, and eager to assist as well as knowledgable. The only drawback is they tend not to have new releases for about six months to a year. However, if you’re looking for a book that was published in the last five years, they have excellent bargains. The environment is warm and welcoming and comfortable. Definitely a local treasure.

There is literally nowhere quite like Banyen Books. People come from all of the world to browse the selection and often spend the day there. A hub of community with tons of amazing author events (both in-person and virtual), a wide selection of gift items, and the most comprehensive selection of books on spirituality and healing in Canada. Banyen also has an easy to use online bookstore that can be accessed from around the world. It is a place with heart... and oasis. It's hard to imagine the Pacific Northwest without it.

I love this store! I haven't checked out the book section thoroughly, just the decoration and other stuff.Obviously, having this kind of store in Kitsilano, it is extremely overpriced. I bought a spa glove (massage glove in the sauna), and it was twice as expensive as in a drugstore. But the selection, the variety of things is quite impressive. The staff is friendly and helpful, too.

I've been wanting to go here for awhile so on my solo trip to Vancouver, I made the stop. Took transit from downtown, super easy. The bookstore is amazing. Great depth so plan to take your time an savour. I just browsed but coming with a list would be good too. Left with 4 books, a Hafiz oracle deck and a few bits for my sacred space at home. Pleasant staff, lots of little reading nooks.

This place is pretty awesome. From their free online events to well priced bracelets, books, crystals & much more.I've known about this place since I moved to Vancouver many years ago however I recently moved into the Kitsilano neighbourhood and can definitely see myself shopping here more often now.With a huge selection of books on various sub-niches of spirituality & metaphysical topics; this place is an oasis to those who question the sanity of pop-culture.The staff has always been friendly towards me and I know my daughter & her friend have spent over an hour in this shop one day returning with a bunch of bracelets for herself and some friends.It was actually her recommendation that led me to the Banyan website where I found a free online event which led me to making a purchase in store.Will definitely be back!
