* brutally honest review*I come to Winnipeg for work a lot and am always looking for quick grab and Go food. After the high reviews I decided to make a quick stop for a shawarma wrap and was very disappointed at the size of the wrap for 10$.First of all when I walk into a shawarma shop I love to see the meat on the spit and the ingredients behind the counter. Which wasn’t the case here as it was just the counter with a POS device and all the food was done in the back kitchen.Im from Toronto so when I order a shawarma I expect to be full and trying to stuff the last few bites in. The size of the regular shawarma was the size of a taquito you get from a street vendor in Mexico. The beef was actually very good but didn’t get the real taste of all the other vegetables that you expect from a shawarma.Maybe this is the norm here in Winnipeg but I for sure will probably not be visiting again.3 stars go for the nice owner, the taste of the beef and a good crispy wrap.

Great place to pick up a wrap, beef or chicken. Both very delicious. Served with style. There are a few places to sit, but you will want to head to the cube to eat your Syrian food.

we ordered beef, chicken, and falafel shawarma wraps + fattoush salad for a work function and everyone was very impressed and had nothing but great things to say about the delicious meal. We will definitely order again in the future.

I think Danook is one of the best shwarma places in the city. Food is incredible, and the prices are reasonable. The owner and workers are always lovely.

I’ve had Danook twice now, the shawarma wraps might be my favourite in the city. Delicious insides, not drenched with sauce but properly proportioned, and the crunchy grilled exterior is perfect.

Hands down best Shawarma in Winnipeg both beef and chicken. If you’ve ever been to the middle east this is what real Shawarma tastes like. Authentic flavor and not westernized. May god bless their business.

I tried the Falafel and chicken and beef Shawarma at Daanook Restaurant and it was great! The Shawarma was packed with delicious flavors and spices, which I loved.The combination of the two was simply perfect. I highly recommend Daanook Restaurant for anyone looking for great food and excellent service!
