Snug Cove General Store

Fabulous store to shop local produce and get some last minute household supplies. Some items a bit more expensive but still way cheaper than taking the ferry to get them myself! Staff always friendly and covid protocols followed.

Being the only store on the island means everyone who lives on the island has at some point shopped there.Now we all understand that items of any nature are marked up for sale.When you are the only store you don't need to get rich off the back of the local population or at least to not get rich in a short period when you could keep your prices down and still have the island population come to shop.

Unfortunately the staff at the store are not very welcoming and customer service does not exist and based on other people's reviews , it's sad to think it's because they knew that we were tourists. We went there 2 different times and had the same rude experience. They should come to vancouver and learn about hospitality and manners and customer service.

Sells a bit of everything, including alcohol. Most of the lights weren't on in the back half of the store making it awfully hard to see anything.

For convenience only. As expected prices are high. Almost twice of major grocery store. Convenient for ice, liquor agency, frozen and baked goods. Service just OK. Busy place

Expensive island prices and bad quality. Manchego cheese had mold on it and the frozen beens had freezer burn and lots of ice, I had to through them away.

Terrible terrible store, generalize everyone as a tourist if they haven’t been there. Tells us that they’re a grocery story and if we don’t have a purpose we shouldn’t be going. Then proceeds to down talk their customers saying we were there with no purpose… when we wanted to grab some snacks for the road.Who walks in to a grocery store with no purpose? People have better things to do than that. If we are walking everywhere it’s because we don’t know where anything is. Pretty self explanatory. Instead of being rude, maybe help your customers? Hospitality 101, way to make a name for Bowen Island.Very very rude, if you’re looking to get something, don’t come to this store because it seems you MUST be a local.

I do not live on the island but visit 3-4 times yearly. It seems that staff at the store are way more attentive, welcoming and talkative to the locals only. Especially during Covid I felt very unwelcomed.

Surprisingly large number of items. Super handy to have a store with so much selection on a small island. Having had a place on Bowen my entire life, I am well away of the difficulties and costs in bringing stuff over to the island. But the General Store prices are too high for many everyday items. The mark up is just too high.
