Island Savings

We have been ISCU customers for well over twenty years. We always had friendly service and accurate online banking. Since ISCU was purchased by First West, things have really gone downhill. No access to my branch by phone anymore and now I have to go in to the location for assistance. I called their 1-888 customer service number because one of my scheduled bills didn't get processed - this was the very 1st time this had happened and I wanted to know why a Dec.31st payment was still sitting in Scheduled Payments on Jan. 4th. I waited on this line for 25 minutes to talk to someone only to be told, I don't know" when I inquired about the payment

The absolute worst credit union to work with. We have had nothing but problems the whole time we carried our mortgage. It started with attempting to refinance with them to pull equity out of our existing mortgage, we had ample room to be able to do this. We were told that it wasnt possible. After a follow up email a month later to check in our request I was told we discussed i will contact you in june. so i will email you then.". Following that email I immediately went to coast capital and had our refinancing done within 2 days with EXTRA room to spare. Now

This gonna be Short and sweet. I've had nothin but problems, my card get put on hold about 2 times a week and I use it every day but thay pushed me to my limit

I no longer live on the island. However, I refuse to give up my bank account with Island Savings. Over the past couple weeks I’ve needed a few things done with my banking, and without living on the island, I couldn’t go in, but I had amazing help from a guy named Derrick who went above and beyond my expectations and went out of his way to even help me with some things I needed to fill out for government stuff. I’ve been with Island Savings since I was 12 and there is no other bank that I trust with my money more than I do with them. Not only did I have help from Derrick but I also had help with my credit card set up from James who again was just outstanding. I also wanted to add that whether it be on the phone or by email, I always get very quick responses and service.I wish I could a give 10 out of 10 star review. Thank you so much to Derrick, James, and Island Savings. Keep up the amazing work!!

Twice now online banking has failed to show current transactions in my account. Only this time I was trying to pay for over $200 worth of groceries, just to be declined. Switching banks to save myself future embarrassment.

Almost 5 stars for me, my first bank as a kid and the only bank that would give me a reasonable mortgage rate as an adult. Have always been helpful and quick for service and willing to help explain things thoroughly. I don't think I've ever been charged an unexpected fee, nor a monthly fee. Jenn has been my favourite to work with so far at the westshore branch, really helpful and knowledgeable.My only complaint and reason I left for a while is access when outside of Vancouver Island, there was only 2 ATM I could deposit my pay cheque at in Vancouver when I lived there so I had to switch banks for convenience, though perhaps since the merger there are more accessible ATMs without fees than there were then, in 2012-2016.
