Meridian Credit Union

We signed a SBA Loan with them and they underfunded our loan pushing thousands of dollars on us to pay out of our pockets. Being a new business is hard enough to get going only to be told that they will not be paying the final invoices because they underfunded us.

I started with Meridian in Richmond Hill. I had an incredible experience with Jordan and his team. I was preapproved for my mortgage in a day. They helped me with my move to Windsor. Incredible group of people!!! Meridian Windsor- another incredible group of people. Nina helped me with the signing of my mortgage!! Meridian rocks!!! Bye bye banks! Meridian is the way to go!!!! Thank you all so much for making my life easier!!

The team at Meridian is amazing! They gave us great advice and excellent guidance for our mortgage. My husband and I are new to Meridian, but we are looking forward to switching all our banking there!

I applied for a credit card online and received an email saying I was approved and just had to go into the closest location to present proof of ID. No problem I thought. I go in and they say I need to become a member first, meaning signing up for a chequing account. Okay, I didn't sign up for a chequing account I just wanted the credit card but it's free so whatever. I also need to pay $1 to become a member, again, annoying but it's just a dollar. I get home and a couple days later I get a call saying that they can't give me the credit card because my credit score is too new but I can get a much worse credit card if I wanted. At this point I'm pretty frustrated at the whole situation and time I've wasted so I ask for my whole account to just be canceled. She replies okay. As for my dollar I ask about it I think a week later and she says I have to go into the branch to pick it up. You've got to be kidding me. So now I'm out the time spent at the branch, time spent writing this review, and my dollar as I refuse to waste anymore time with Meridian. All I wanted was a credit card. A simple yes or no approval would have been nice.

I'm usually a big fan of credit unions, but service is terrible here. Can't say I see any reason to use them unfortunately, you'd be better served anywhere else.

The debit cards are pretty terrible and do not work at certain businesses. The tap function seems to work when it wants to. 3 star review is very good for the Windsor location. What was it two years ago meridian didn't even have tap cards or online banking. And now your pretending to be the next BMO? Come on now..

Use any other credit union. The wait time is way to long you may see 2 staff ever. No privacy, unfriendly, not accomodating. They look stunned if you ask them basically any thing. There is only one staff member who knows anything and is polite her name is Nina. I hope this credit union just closes .... Everyone i know has left shortly after opening an account. What a depressing place.

They are slowwwww, unprofessional, don't seem to know their own business and sneak in all kinds of extra fees and charges on you and surprise glitches. Just a pathetic clown show. Don't waste your time!

Went to apply for a mortgage was given the runaround, 5 months later and they still don't know what rate they would give me. Stay away and don't waste of time.
