The Middle Spoon Desserterie & Bar
The food, service, and ambiance were all incredible. Cocktails were excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the Aphrodite’s Kiss and the peanut butter pie, and our servers were incredibly friendly. This is a great place to visit with slightly older family, and it’s especially fun if you can figure out the secret ;)

We came here after a meal at the Mexican restaurant. Was intrigued you could get desserts and drinks here. I ordered a coffee and apple crumble. It was the best apple crumble I have ever had. It was presented beautifully with a Spoon" garnish made of chocolate. Neat! My colleague got a couple changing drink. That was cool."

This is a beautiful restaurant. Even just sitting at the bar waiting for our take-out order was pleasant. The bartender/server was clearly very talented at drinks, and walked us thru the best choices for dessert. I had the lemon pavlova, which was delicious and fresh. Unfortunatly it was also very small for the price ($11), about the size of a coaster and very thin. I finished it so fast. My partner had the new york cheesecake, which was a decent sized wedge, but still, not worth $14. He added peanut butter pie filling for another $2, which also wasn't necessary as it made the dessert way too heavy and filling. For a total bill of $31 just for dessert, we definitely over-paid for the pleasure. The interior atmosphere is really pretty tho, and service was great.

My friends and I went for dessert, we were looking to have a good time, as soon as one of my friends tried her desserts she felt something really hard and had to take it out of her mouth and it looked like a rock. We were trying to see if it was actually a rock since it was really weird to be inside of the dessert. She took another bite and got a piece of plastic, I took a picture and called the waitress which he apologized for it. We ended up not eating our dessert as we didn’t feel comfortable at all of what could be in ours and there was no explanations at all.

Cocktails are amazing and the dessert is so good. Great place for a hot chocolate and cake. Food was so good I couldn't even wait long enough to take a photo before taking a bite

My friend was super excited to go here. I found the desserts we ordered were okay. Did not really like the carrot cake which is apparently the best seller but I also in general don’t like carrot cake. The toffee pudding was good but make sure you have lots of people to share it with otherwise it is way too heavy

This place was great don’t get me wrong. The desserts were fabulous. The drinks were delicious as well. BUT.. the seating in the downstairs bar was horrendous. The chairs were worn out. The spring in my fiancés chair was shot. We had a great time he was really uncomfortable though unfortunately. My rating would be 5 stars if the staff can fix this. I tried it myself and it was really bad :(

The desserts here were phenomenal. I ordered the chocolate lava cake and my partner ordered the carrot cake. Both were amazing. I don't remember the name of the drink we got, but it was also great. The atmosphere was nice and the was fine. It was really, really expensive. I don't know if I'll be back because of the price. There are other fancy dessert places nearby that are significantly cheaper and just as amazing.

The Middle Spoon Desserterie & Bar
Ordered a couple of desserts here while visiting Halifax. We got the chocolate torte and peanut butter pie. Both were amazing. Portion were neither too big or small. And they weren't very sweet. In a good way. Nicely balanced flavours. Good place to go if you're looking to sit down and satisfy those dessert cravings.
