Thrifty Car Rental

First, I cannot write on this form without clicking on a rating star... but one star is one star too many for this company. I want to rate it at a -10 star.Thrifty/Hertz, was the worst car rental experience we have ever had. An absolutely horrible company!Booked a rental car one month ahead of time from 114 5 Ave SE, Calgary, ABFor only a one day rental, they put a hold on my credit card for $463.00 without saying a word, then they charged my credit card for the rental charge on another separate transaction of $112.34, so it is like I have $575.00 tied up on my Credit Card for only one-day rental.I called Thrifty/Hertz customer service but I received the worst customer service over the phone.Every time I called, I was on hold for 60 min or more. They are rude, they hung-up on me and weren't able to give me any correct information.Finally, I spoke to the supervisor which was no different than the others, she couldn’t answer my questions and, in the end, she was helpless. For no reason they still have $463.00 on hold on my credit card.Added to that, the car was dirty inside and outside, smelled bad and never followed any standards for the Covid protocol, the inside of the car was not sanitized and dead flies remained on the dashboard of the car when we picked it up, we also had to clean and sanitize the entire inside before touching anything. Upon pickup of the car, we had to wait outside and watch the employee wash the car, which took an hour just to shower and scrub the tires of the car.The car was not safe to drive as the car gear was not functioning correctly and was very difficult to shift gears from Drive to Park, or Park to Drive or Reverse… etc… it would not move from one gear to the other without a lot of effort, which mean’s they never had the car checked for road safety. When I mentioned this to the supervisor, she reacted like it is not her business and asked me “Did you reported this?” Of course, I told them in my very first call to the Customer Service team and they did nothing.Stay away from this horrible company! My best advice is to rent from another company.

Wow!! I had a stellar experience with the entire team at this Thrifty Car Rental location. Even in -30 degree weather, they are super friendly, helpful, and upbeat :) Much appreciation to the staff — with very special thanks to Salman, Leo, Valentino, and Rod for their amazing customer service!! Keep up the awesome work!!

Kamal and his team at Thrifty were so helpful and accommodating. They went out of their way to assist me and were so professional. Excellent service and very knowledgeable staff. I recommend this location for renting your next car.

worst service, got tickted for not have number plate upto date, was towed away. wasnt my fault at all, its just didnt checked the paper work before i drove out their car, then went to fight 4-5 time struggling for not paying the ticket. i ended up paying for thier fault. No one bothereed listening to me.

Worst customer service I have ever received. Booked my car online, had a booking confirmation for 11 am. I get there and they say I have to be on a wait list till 3pm. Absolute nonsense. Beware!! Better off with Enterprise!

I used this Thrifty to rent a car for a road trip to Vancouver. We were assisted by Valentino. He was really personable and friendly. We were given a great car and that really added to the road trip. Thank you!

Stay away from this shady operation. Started with no car available despite a prepaid reservation. Could only offer truck, minivan or Tesla none of which match the reservation. Nobody seem concerned about fulfilling their side of the agreement. Just blamed it on people not returning cars on time. Ended up waiting 1+ hour which delayed our trip. Upon returning the car, we were falsely accused of being in an accident causing the bumper to come detached". In reality

Pretty positive experience when picking up the car but the return was a little ridiculous.Return of the car was at 8:00. I went in at 8:35(don't think there should be late fees for this. It's usually after 1 hour). When they gave me the car it wasn't full(I didn't pay attention to exactly how much); on return, I was told the gas was only one tick" less when given to me and I returned at half tank. I offered to go to the gas station and fill it up but then I was told I would have to pay late fees because it'd be more than an hour since I returned.The charge for the gas for half tank is $77 but I was given a discount so I was charged $57. When I asked why this much when the full tank cost $40 at the gas station

They didn't even teach me how use the car they just gave me the keys the one I am talking about is the one on the first floor there is another one on the main floor that i later discovered and that one looked a lot more proffesioal the staff at the first one was very rude and unpolite but the one on the main floor was a lot better
