Port Carling Veterinary Services

So delighted with this Veterinary service. My dog was suffering with an ear infection and they got me in right away because “we don’t want her to suffer.”They took a swab to check for yeast or bacteria and looked at it under a microscope so they knew right away what they were treating. In addition staff booked me a follow-up appointment to make sure that the infection was gone.The Dr was happy to answer all my questions and was very patient.Warm and friendly staff.

The vet technician/assistant lacks professionalism and is completely void of people skills! Tried to reach them for 3 continuous days after given unclear instructions and receipt from the assistant...all I got was a busy signal. Found out after getting the bill and not being allowed to even speak to the vet via phone...that she was inaccurate in transferring the information I gave her to the vet as the info she put on the receipt was not the information I gave her. Begging the question what else did she get wrong with my beloved pet? Hopefully not any dosages!!! Was not able to leave a message. Talked to other friends and family members who said the hours at the office are so terrible now you might as well go to the Bracebridge Vets who have staff who answer the phone during the day or at least an answer service during regular hrs. When I finally did get through the assistance wouldn’t listen or let me finish a sentence...and was very dismissive. Dealing with her did not make me feel my pet was going to be in good hands or instill confidence that what I was saying would get through to Peter or Ian with any accuracy. Would not have chosen this office if I had known how bad the service has gotten. I’ve used this office for yrs in the past without issue...not quite sure what’s going on here now. A vets office who doesn’t answer the phone...IS LIKE 911 NOT PICKING UP YOUR CALL!!! No bloody excuse for it.

Very friendly and compassionate staff. On the way out of town yesterday our dog rubbed himself into something that smelled terrible (theory is bear droppings) in the Tim Horton's parking lot. It made my husband sick instantly and we were looking at a 3 hour drive. I looked up and there was Port Carling Veterinary Services. I walked our dog over hoping they were open, friendly and able to help me out on the spot. They were on all fronts. They took over and shampooed our dog (3 times!) and although I would have paid anything at that point, they gave me a very reasonable price. Then they gave me spray for our car. Wow - just good people. Now that I know, I will take our dog there for pet care. Thank you so much!

I have been taking my dog to this vet for the two years she’s been mine, from puppy shots til present. She’s had to be in for multiple Health concerns (ex eye infection, ear infection, Cut paw) She is always treated with great care and they are incredibly loving towards my sweet pup, and remember her when I call! Each time I call, I am fit into their day without any issue. I WILL say that quite often I call and get a busy signal that does not go to voicemail. But after a few calls I make it through. Love the team, knowledgeable, patient with me to discuss each concern as I am a new dog owner and always professional.

The staff are amazing, and the Doctor's are very helpful when emergency needs arise

Always Friendly and Helpful. I buy a specific brand of food and they always have it in stock. When items needed they are quick to order it and get it in. Great hours.

Hands down the best vet in Muskoka. We had a scary and Very expensive diagnosis regarding our dog from another vet and we were looking for a second opinion. They took us in and corrected the diagnosis to something very minor. They are caring and very helpful. If you need a vet in Muskoka stop looking now and call the Port Carling Vet.

I would be remiss if I did not warn others to STAY CLEAR of this clinic.I saw a review that said “completely void of people skills” and that sums up the support staff perfectly.My puppy is the most loving dog I’ve ever owned. When he meets new people he greets them with kisses. To hear the technician say she had to MUZZLE and RESTRAIN him is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable!!The technician or ladies working at the front not only gave medication without explaining why or how to use it, they were also extremely dismissive when asked if we could speak to the vet.It scares me to think what else this technician did to him without our knowledge after seeing a review that the technician “slapped” someone’s pet.I wish I had spoken to my friends before bringing him here, because they too had similar experiences with the technician and would never bring their pet back.The only saving grace for that one star is the vet was nice and apologetic for the staffs behaviour.

Dr Jones and his teams both in Port Carling and Parry Sound are simply the best especially during this tough time. Their compassion, integrity and genuine love for my fur baby has been outstanding. I am truly grateful for them all and their dedication to the well being and encouragement of our pets and our families. ““Pawsitivly” love them
