Paramount Management

My roommates and I didn’t have an excellent experience with paramount management. I am not one to leave reviews however, people need to hear about the downside of this company. When first moving in we were told that we couldn’t move into the unit because the power wasn’t properly set up which turned out to be a fault of the resident manager and not us (the blame was still put on us for this mistake). When we moved in we were paying for a parking spot at the unit and the week before we were moving we were notified that we actually didn’t have a spot and we’d have to park somewhere else for two months in an area that wasn’t even close to our unit. We paid $100 for a parking spot each month in what I would say are the smallest parking spots in Halifax. My car along with two others acquired damaged because of the size of the lot. The week before we moved out our window was kicked in on the sidewalk and the fix job they did on it was horrible. You could see the entire outside letting anything come in, which required us to call again to get it fixed properly. After this they told us that a new window wouldn’t be in for 4-6 weeks which is extremely unfortunate for the new tenants. On top of everything that happened to us in the last week of living there my roommates and I decided to clean for over a week so the new tenants would at least have a clean place to live (with no window). When getting our damage deposit we were shocked to find out that we were charged and extensive cleaning fee for absolutely nothing as the unit was spotless! This seems to be a trend given the other reviews. Again, I’m sure some units are nice with this company however our experience in ours wasn’t great.

Big time joke wouldn't ever consider renting trying to scam folks out of half months rent to review an application for rental? SCAM

This company is sterling and instills confidence from the beginning. One immediately gets a sense they care about their staff, workers and tenants .... Paramount could be the role model for realty management..It all comes from the top folks. Kudos to this family!

Definitely one of the best property management companies I've had to deal with. This family business truly cares about each tenant individually. It's amazing how quick the responses are and how kind our resident manager is. Highly recommend if you are looking to rent, especially long term.

Paramount properties are always well managed. We've lived at two locations so far and have been more than happy with them. Whenever we've had any sort of issues - for example, one time our fridge had a problem - they have handled it immediately.

I have lived at Avonhurst Gardens for 2 years. Best place ever! Top of the line apartments and facilities. Management are fantastic and so accommodating. They consistently do whatever they can to help their tenants feel like this is this home. The property is professionally cared for inside and out. THE. BEST. PLACE. TO. LIVE.

We have lived at 2 separate Paramount residences and both locations have been exceptional. The Superintendents are fantastic, very friendly and incredibly helpful. Buildings are very well maintained. Very much recommend these apartments.

Kind of sketchy company that clearly takes advantage of the spirit of the Residential tenancy act. The use fixed-term leases of 12 months, instead of year to year leases, which gives them more ability to enter your home without notice as well as to raise" your rent (I use "raise" in scare quotes because there's no continuity between leases; it's a new one every time.) Complete con artists! I recently moved out of a Paramount unit where we spent 2 days cleaning the place, left no belongings or damage and even moved out a day early as a concession to the property owners so they could do some routine work to the unit. Yet, when it cam time to receive our damage deposit, we were billed $600 for a cleaning fee. No one at Paramount could explain the breakdown of this fee and when we requested to see invoices, they could not provide any (and still haven't)

We have lived at Avonhurst Gardens Paramount apartment. The building is very very nice. The design, the space, and the size of the apartments are all perfect. The superintendents and managers are fantastic, very friendly and incredibly helpful. In additional, Thanks Jin Shan, she showed enthusiasm and patience when she give great helps to us.Very much recommend this apartment.
