This review is not based on the company/craftsmanship. Just a couple of employees. My partner and I were out having breakfast this morning, next to a table of two men. To the annoyance of the fellow diners, they LOUDLY played voicemail messages on speakerphone while diners tried to enjoy their meal. This lasted about ten minutes straight. When my partner opted to be the one to ask them to please turn down the volume, she was rudely met with a grunted “We’re in a meeting!”, like they were some sort of dignitaries. No one less in the restaurant wanted to hear business discussions much louder than anything else in the room.On top of that, the impolite response was uncalled for.I kept my temper in check, and watched out the window to see if there was a company logo on their vehicle.Just a sad reminder of how poor actions can negatively affect a business.

Schindler elevator installed elevators in my 13 story condo building in Toronto and it has been an absolute nightmare. Elevators break all the time and we have to wait for mystery parts for weeks and months . Distressing and very costly

This company is completely incompetent and cannot efficiently maintain elevators. They have yet to keep both elevators EVER working at the same time in the building I live in.

I live in a condo in London, Ontario. I had dropped my keys down the shaft of the elevator in my building and I called my superintendent to place a call to Schindler Elevators who has the contract for the building to retrieve the keys. I was standing beside my super when he called to advise that I had dropped my keys. My super advised them that this was NOT an emergency and to retrieve the keys the next time they attended at the premises. I called my son who used to work for that elevator company and he called and spoke with Darren. Darren advised my son that he had already retrieved the keys and they were left at the condo. I had received them the next and said to my super that they had better not charge me because we had specifically told him that it was not an emergency. My super advised if Schindler charged me for this, that we would make a complaint and I also agreed as this would not cost me anything if it was not an emergency.Of course, I received an invoice from the Schindler charging me $234.38 for an emergency retrieval of my keys. This incident occurred in October and I left the 1st message with no call back from them.I have now called 3x and have not received a call back from them. I advised them today that if I’m not important enough to contact me then I’m not important to pay this fraudulent invoice which stated that the owner approved the charge which is definately not true as I specifically asked my super to make the call in from of me. So there would be no miscommunication about the service. He was told there would be NO charge since it was not an emergency. This is terrible, deplorable behaviour of Schindler to charge a senior for something she specifically advised them not to do on an emergency basis and then charges me anyway and that will not return any of my messages. You won’t be getting any recommendations from me.Shame on you!!!!!

Hello. We have a single elevator in our building. It stopped working Mid September 2018. We're still working to get the repair done and it's days before November! We rely on these accessibility services daily for our valued customers and we're being met with little to no assistance from our rep, their servicemen or the Toronto based branch in general. We've contacted customer service multiple times to no avail. We've left voicemails upon voicemails with our Schindler representative - seldom getting any response at all. We've reached out to the US offices for assistance twice, as recommended in many of these other Google reviews… but have had no responses either. Would absolutely NOT recommend this company to any business that is looking to provide quality accessible options for their customers.

I've never met such rude, ignorant employees of a company in my life. Be more careful of who you give company vehicles to, you might not want your company asscociated with certain rude individuals

Well my parents had to spend there 66 anniversary on there 4 floor of Condo as the brand new elevator installed approximately month which the group has paid good money for.A serviceman show up not knowing how to repair model then leave another repairman shows up and sayys well my shifts done and so be back tomorrow. This is not to me acceptable service on brand new unit for a building that has seniors .The reason this company was chose was they are suppose to be reliable .Having an untrained repair man come to service is one pointless .These people have gone two months without an elevator and had to relocate which they accepted as that was the agreement .It is understandable that things go wrong but 24 hours for service is not acceptable in my eye .Shame on this company.

We've had issues with both elevators since January and it is now December. This company is either purposely not fixing the elevators to work properly or the technicians are really incompetent. How can the same issue continue to happen every few months? We had someone here on Monday, the elevator is still not working on Friday and this happened just a few weeks ago. Unacceptable. An apartment building can't be safe with a single elevator, social distancing is not possible with this amount of people and only one elevator. We need the second one to be operational.

Our elevator for the building has been out since June, building only has 2 elevators.Initially, the engineers said that we needed to order a part for it to be fixed. Part due to delays arrived in august and the team came back to where they realized that we needed additional “parts”.The timeline updated to September 13-17 to where the elevator would be fixed. It still is not fixed.

The condo building I live in, unfortunately has a service agreement with Schindler Group - and we have endless, countless, and ongoing elevator service disruptions. Our building is less than 10 years old. We've been operating with 1 of 2 elevators out of commission since April 27th - waiting for a unique replacement part, that ought to have been part of the maintenance plan given the reason it was shut down per a prescribed regulatory requirement, which means that it is a common item that needs to be replaced due to wear/tear.It's unfortunate that for a multinational company with thousands of contracts in Toronto, that we have to wait over 4 weeks to get a replacement part, without any other recourse or ability to work with another company who can expedite or be better prepared to service their clients.Has anyone else had even a positive experience with Schindler as your service provider? They seem to be the lowest rated of all the companies....
