Arashi-Do Edmonton North
Terrific place with talented and friendly instructors. Muay Thai classes cater to beginners as well as more advanced students. Very welcoming and non-intimidating environment. It is clear that the staff are not just in it for the money; they offer a whole month of muay thai classes for free, and are very flexible for the membership plans. I was able to take a month off and withhold the payment for summer break, no questions asked. I highly recommend this gym, they are rated #1 for a reason!

Phenomenal gym with tremendous instructors. Lots of different types of classes available during different times (evening or lunch) so you can make your way to the gym one way or another.Classes are a big of mix beginners, intermediates and advanced. Instructors does a good job of making sure that everybody is practicing their trade at the correct level with right pairings. Coming from a competitive soccer and boxing background, I can tell you that a Muay Thai class is one of the best workouts you can get (those BJJ students looks like they are sweating lots right before us as well). If you are a beginner like me who is looking for a quality gym to start Muay Thai, look no where else. Teaches you a lot of about yourself and toughens you up mentally and physically.

By far the best experience I have had with martial arts. There is a welcoming friendly atmosphere. The instructors are knowledgable, flexible and extremely supportive. Their teaching style fosters a cooperative and fun attitude in the students. I have been going to this school for several years and can't recommend it enough!

I started coming here about a month ago using the one month free trial. I have never done Jiu Jitsu before. I was placed in the beginner class that Tim was teaching. Tim is a great teacher and made me feel welcome right away. The classes are taught in a way that makes it easy to learn. Everyone there is very friendly and this gym has a great vibe. I fell in love with it immediately and decided to sign up. I also tried a different gym during the time period of my one month free trial. I took one class at Legends. Legends was a great gym too but I preferred Arashi Do because it has much less students per class and was a more personable experience. I would recommend Arashi Do North to anyone. From what I can see there is a abundance of knowledge and I'm excited to learn as I continue to go there. Great gym!!!

My daughter has been a student here for over 5 years, the class teaches so much more than a healthy lifestyle, it teaches patience, discipline, sportsmanship, self defence and so much more....and she just thinks it's fun. I highly recommend Arashi Do North to anyone wanting to learn martial arts- kids, adults and women - at any fitness level.

Professor Mike is not only professional, but also a thoughtful and empathetic teacher. Time after time he has shown genuine concern and eagerness to help and develop the skills of all his students. It is clear that he legitimately loves it when his students succeed. If someone is having a challenge in class, he is there to hear them out, and give them just the right advice. He also has a wonderful staff around him. His jujitsu & Muay Thai class instructors enhance the teaching environment that he has fostered, and his front desk person, Annie, is always helpful and kind, both to new visitors and longtime students. There is a strong sense of community among students.Professor Mike has made Arashi-Do gym a safe and fun learning environment, where anyone can cultivate a great skillset for self defense, competition, or just a fun hobby.

Friendly environment and great team atmosphere. I'm attending the fundamentals BJJ classes Coached by Tim and I am impressed by his communication of techniques and friendliness. He also remembered my name right away, which is something that impresses me about any teacher or coach in any industry. It's the little things that count, and Arashi Do delivers!

Was looking for a place to start training BJJ after my last gym has closed. After checking out Arashi-Do I was really impressed by the atmosphere and just how overwhelming welcoming everyone is. Professor Mike is great at really breaking everything down so that it is both easy to learn and very safe.

I trained here for two years and it really is an awesome place. The community is welcoming and full of great people. Ego doesn't seem to play a role when it comes to sparring. Those with more experience are eager to share their knowledge.Professor Mike and the other instructors are talented, accommodating, and easy-going. They cater to a wide variety of skill levels, and make sure that everyone gets a solid workout (and some laughs) in at every class. I always felt as though I was able to learn something. On a number of occasions, Mike allowed me to pause my membership if I was on a break from school. For anyone who is thinking of trying a martial art, or who is looking for a new school to train at, I would highly recommend Arashi-Do North.
