Deen's Caribbean Restaurant
Great place for Caribbean food - we came to watch a duo play live music, and we had a couple of rotis and drinks. Food was awesome, service was great (but be prepared to wait for your food - they hand make everything to order so it does take a little time!). The vibe was authentic Jamaican of the style you get off the beaten path where the locals go, without running into a boatload of aggravating tourists.

Wow, this place went downhill.I used to come here often as a kid, 20-30 years ago, and always looked forward to it. This was the introduction and the standard for Caribbean food as far as I knew it.Not anymore. By *far* the worst I've had in the city recently. I ordered the chicken roti and a beef pattie.The roti: utterly devoid of flavour. It's not just not spicy, it tastes completely unseasoned- it's just chicken and potatoes in flavourless yellow sauce. Who is this for? The patio was packed with people drinking Labatt and listening to a classic rock cover band, so maybe that's the new market for Deen's? Were people complaining about the food having too much taste?The pattie: *literally* a convenience store pattie (in its retail packaging), thrown in a microwave, for twice the price. And it's mild. EFFING MILD. This is like a bad dream.If you like Caribbean food, avoid this place.If you've never had Caribbean food, avoid this place.The original owners would be *churning* in their graves if they saw the food here today.

Amazing food! Super friendly and attentive service! The atmosphere inside is cozy and fun. We can't wait to go back in the summer to try the patio!

Great restaurant. Family owned.Got the goat Roti and my friend got the boneless chicken. Great service, attentive and fast.Great value for the amount of food. Clean place and the patio looks awesome. I’m sure even better at night.

Holy crep. Deen’s is so friggin good. No idea why I don’t go here all the time. Fed three people lunch for $40.Chickpea roti, chicken roti, DOUBLES. Fantastic hot sauce.

Food was good. Service was friendly. I'm not an expert on Caribbean food. I didn't order the roti which I think is more their specialty?.Had the jerk chicken and the goat and rice. The entrees include greens which isn't mentioned in the menu. The jerk was better here than at other places I've tried. I'm not a huge fan of jerk normally but it was ok here. (My friend wanted it)Will have to come back to get a better review. I had been here years ago when I did all the restaurants in the back of the ciao magazine.

Amazing food! First time there today had the jerk chicken and chicken roti. Chicken rotti was definitely my favorite. Also really friendly service feels like you have come and are right at home. I will be back soon!

Homemade and delicious! Deen's Doubles are a true delight! Also, Deen's Favorite Roti is loaded with big chunks of juicy curry chicken and big tender shrimps, yum! Fresh cut fries are so crispy and soft at the same time. Love this place!!

A taste of the Caribbean! We went for lunch today after been there over 10 years ago, and everything was delicious. Both the jerk chicken n rice and the chicken roti were flavorful and filling. Service was friendly and quick and the washrooms were clean. Definitely a must try! Again and again...

Absolutely amazing food and great service. The menu is authentic Caribbean and the food is bursting with flavors. A hidden gem. Tried Jamaican patties and Jerk Chicken. I have to say that these were better than the ones I have had in Jamaica. Good parking spots across the street. Ample free parking. It's a must try in Winnipeg. The patio seems very nice, could not try due to rainy weather.
