The Latch Inn
The Latch Inn is a great gem loaded with history set in a charming and romantic pocket of Sidney with views of the water and wonderful lush greenery to meander through. Quiet with only the faint sound of the owls hooting, we had wonderful sleeps in our comfy king-sized bed and awoke to the offering of coffee and tea available in the lounge to tie us over until breakfast. A nice touch. The hosts are warm and engaging with great stories about the property's history, how they acquired it, and tidbits of information about dining and things to do. The dining room is pretty with 6 tables for two, perfectly placed for private conversation but the chance to chat with other guests should one so desire. Cuisine was wonderful both mornings with the option to choose from several menu items. Great presentation of food with great flavours with just the right amount of food to fuel us for the day and leave room for a small lunch and dinner. The lounge is beautifully appointed with various vignettes set for conversation, reading, or playing board games. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will return. Thank you to the hosts for making our get-away so enjoyable.

Delightfully cozy, tucked away near a scenic marina, with lovely views, enveloped by gorgeous gardens, and interiors lovingly restored to another era, The Latch Inn is an elegant, luscious retreat with charming details in a historic mansion. Our room was comfortable and charming. Breakfast was superb. Owner, David was a tremendous host. What more could you ask for?

I'm a bit late to the party but here goes.. we stayed at The Latch last home for our 1yr wedding anniversary and I wasn't too sure what I was getting myself into but the website looked great and I wanted something secluded, romantic and with a bit of a rustic atmosphere. This place turned out to be amazing! I can't say enough good things. From the little details, to the historical feel, the modern upgrades, the ownership and service and the fantastic food. I felt super welcomed and relaxed the entire time. I can't recommend The Latch enough, any time of the year. It has a certain summer charm and I can imagine how stunning it is in the winter.Thank you to the ownership team, you guys are incredible!

Our only regret was that we didn't stay more than one night! This was a pit stop between weeks in Victoria and Whistler. This is a charming, welcoming inn, with a fine attention to detail and water views. The breakfast is wonderful. We could not have been more pleased with our stay and our host, Michael. The quaint town of Sidney is close by for a full range of restaurant options. The inn offers some nice options too for beverages and food add-ons. Be sure to check their website before you go.

Perfect Staycation! From moment we arrived, David took the time to give us a tour of the building, take us to our room, and fill us in on all the rich history of the property. We had some drinks by the fire in the cozy lounge, and when the drink service was over a plate of cookies was left out for the guests. We didn’t know that breakfast was included and what a treat that was! Fresh juices, baked goods, and eggs Benny made to order. The room was beautiful and comfortable, we can’t remember the last time we had service this good! Can’t wait to return!

The Latch Inn
What an amazing stay. We spent 3 nights at The Latch Inn, and it was everything we had hoped for and more. The breakfasts were amazing. Our room was beautiful, with such an amazing view of the harbor. Dominic, David, and Michael put so much effort into this place, and it really shows. The ambience was what really made this place great, so much so that we decided to stay in on a Saturday night in the lounger rather than hit up downtown Sidney. We will certainly be back, and with friends and family!

I immediately noticed the pineapple carvings in the spindals of the stair railings. The pineapple was often used as a symbol to represent hospitality in the olden days and would adorn absinthe towers and other utensils of the time.Pineapples were considered exotic fruit as it came from tropical countries and were difficult to procure at the time. Offering such fruits would be reserved for your most important guests symbolic of welcoming and respect.Dominic, our host and owner, lived up to the tradition and honors his craft as a hotelier. My fiance and I had a wonderful two night stay, and the level of detail service is noticed. The breakfast had an incredible amount of detail and care into it, a bit of a throw back in food trends in terms of carnishes of fruit, etc. With my tasty eggs, Benny's wich suited the dining room.Exceptional value for the room with breakfast.

What a lovely stay we had! The lounge area was our favorite space with the fire going and good company. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy getaway. The location was easy to get to and very close to downtown Sidney and didn't feel too far from Victoria.Michael was hilarious and an amazing host.
