Home | Welcome to Brome Lake Books. We are a family-run independent bookstore located in Knowlton QC, in the heart of the bucolic Eastern Townships; about an hour south of Montreal. We are happy to share our passion for books, literature, literacy, community and all things Canadian mystery author, Louise Penny and the village of Three Pines!

This is a classic, family-owned & run village bookstore with plenty of variety for all ages & tastes. It's very inviting and definitely worth the stop as you tour the town of Brome Lake. Staff are knowledgeable & approachable. I'll go back!

This is my favourite independent bookstore! I am so lucky I got to visit for my birthday and leave with a tote bag full of beautiful books! I love this store so much, I support them online whenever I can't visit. The staff are so kind and the atmosphere is so calm and welcoming!

This is a large bookstore for a small town, but has become the go-to place for all things Louise Penny, a renowned local mystery writer: there's even a corner of the store dedicated to her novels.Artfully decorated, bright and inviting, with a wide selection of books in a variety of genres. Recommended.

I've been coming here ever since I was young before it became touristy thanks to Louise Penny. It's an awesome bookstore, one of my favourite independent bookstores of all time and my favourite independent bookstore in Canada. It's always a treat to visit whenever I come to visit my grandfather in Knowlton.
