Rand helped me tune my guitar (just started to learn play). He was nice and helpful. It cost $15 to tune and $6 for strings. It's a nice little store with a ton of equipment inside.

I came across this store while wondering at Crystal Mall and noted to come back if I needed anything since that’s the only local music store I found in Burnaby. So I came back when looking to get a headphone. I was nicely greeted by a staff and I told them it was my first visit and I wanted to check out some headphones. A guy(later after I became a regular I learnt that he-Ran was the owner) came to me and provided a thorough&detailed introduction of headphones they carry from both the ones stocked in store as well as more online products they provide to order. He recommended several suitable ones according to my budget and needs, I didn’t get anything that day but ended up coming back a different day and got the Audio-Technica 50th Anniversary ATH-M50 Limited Edition. It remains my favorite headphone til this day because of its’ exceptional audio quality for professional monitoring and mixing(it’s been years since I had it but the condition and sound quality still is like new). This headphone makes almost any instrument sound better than what it actually is because it allows you to feel the most depth and warmth of sound. It was a nice surprise to find out that not only do they carry a large variety and kinds of instruments ranging from beginners to advanced players, they also carry quality brands of professional music recording equipment. It was also a surprise to see hate speech&one-liner negative comments that are supported with no background story of exactly what happened nor a reasonable explanation of where that disappointment&frustration came from. Seems to me and maybe to many other logical minds out there that these comments only exits to intentionally discredit and defame AtMusic. I don’t usually care about online comments battling for I believe it’s useless to converse with people who are incapable of rational thinking but it’s a pity to see a loved local business to be shamed and that’s why I decided to take a bit of time out of my busy day to show some support and understanding to a devoted&professional business owner with integrity who were treated so unfairly like this.To those who just blindly follow and spread rumors and false claims: Not sure where your conscience lies but thought at least I could stand with the ones who has a brain and are capable to use it..P.S. : If I were the owner I wouldn’t even bother with these rubbish talks, but I guess the owner still replied and explained to each and every comment with a professional demeanor because he just genuinely cares about customer service as well as all customers including the one who don’t deserve it AT ALL.Good luck to the staff and owner of AtMusic, you are GREAT!Much love and support from a customer friend

I am here to purchase one of your Fender Squire guitars and amp. I already researched and I was ready to pay your price . While I was waiting I read your reviews, how sad that you remain in business. 2pm Thursday and no one here, store closed, Long and McQuade here I come . I will pay less and get great service. Too bad we will never meet ! I have 4 grandchildren that need instruments and lessons. Wanted to do business locally, bye bye bye to you. Gary

My violin bridge was broken. I came in on August 11 to get it repaired. I wanted to support a local business and I completely REGRET IT.I was told that the bridge replacement order will be placed on the Monday (August 13). I didn't hear back from them at any point about the progress on the repairs. So I called in. I was told that the guy" will call me

worst service ever! agree with the lady below me worst owner! you called them millions times, no answers. I asked them and they said they opened in the afternoon. but how come until 3pm no one in the shop. the owner also got rid of their office phone voicemails so you have no way to cancel the classes. you just have to keep calling, so make sure you donot have jobs so being able to keep calling them.

Original Review:Rude. Condescending. Higher-than-average merchandise price. My friend doesn't usually go to this store due to their high mark-up price and the way they squeeze their contract music teachers' cuts to maximize profit. On a rare occasion, friend went into the store today to purchase some music books due to a tight deadline and inquired about the teacher's discount. First the staff (possibly the owner) was in no hurry to attend to the customer as he was playing his guitar, then the staff scoffed at the request, citing that home teachers can't receive discount, only institution teachers & RCM teachers are qualified. Friend stated the RCM qualification and had purchased before from the store with discount. The staff looked up on the system to confirm teacher eligibility and purchase history, then wanted to mention that my friend had shopped there only twice (on record) in between 2009 to 2015, and had not for 2010, 2011, and 2012 as if that was a factor of the discount. In reality, friend had gone more than those times, but not every time was logged. The staff finally reluctantly issued the discount and immediately warned about not to resell the books. If you valve your dignity, and the dignity of your music teachers, don't go there. Contract your teachers for private lessons. This store does not deserve your business.

fun place to hangout, the only music shop in the area that offer a multitude of services. There are some real beautiful guitars, featuring brands like takamine ,cort, and washburn. I'm a guitar person but theres also digital pianos, ukuleles, drums and even violins. Scary large selection for strings and beginners instruments. The manager is knowledgable in many departments and fun to chat with.

Nicest music shop in Burnaby, run and managed by a real local music veteran. Don't be fooled by the low-baller and haters hateful reviews. This is the music place of Burnaby by any measure.

I've been a regular customer and student of this shop for years. It's a rather small and low-key shop filled with musical vibes. The boss" himself may be a somewhat casual-looking man but he surely is an experienced and dedicated music professional. I would strongly recommend anyone who seeks to take lessons or purchase supplies to pay a visit and make an impression of your own. After moving to a different city far away
