Lorie and the band did an amazing job with all our wedding music, both live and through a DJ! They were so flexible in working with our cantor to make our ceremony exactly what we wanted, and both our families had nothing but compliments for the live hora music we danced to. Really amazing job, I would recommend them to anyone thanks to their professionalism, commtment to our vision, and talent from start to finish.

Lorie is really easy to work with and had a great sense of what we were looking for immediately. She was super flexible as our needs shifted getting closer to the event. The band was fantastic and we received a lot of positive feedback from our school community for the Chanukah event. Couldn't recommend more highly!

The Horah Machine played at my son's wedding and the compliments are still rolling in! There way so much joy in their music. Lorie chose the appropriate instruments for various parts of the wedding and they were all perfect. Her musicians also learned the piece that my father had composed for my own wedding so that my son could march down to it and it was wonderful. Our wedding would not have been the same without Lorie and her band!! We have had guests continuously say that our wedding was the most fun wedding that they’ve ever been to and I know the band was a huge part of the fun. 10/10 would recommend.

The Horah Machine played at our wedding this fall, and we were blown away by their performance. They played for our ceremony, where they beautifully covered a couple pieces we'd chosen, and then during the reception, which included an unforgettable Horah. The combination of brass, woodwind, string and drum was exactly the sound we were looking for, and our guests all raved about it. One specific highlight for me was that they were able to do a collab piece with a 3rd party bagpiper upon my request, and it sounded incredible. Lorie was also a pleasure to work with and was very responsive up to and during the wedding. I would definitely recommend the Horah Machine for a live performance at your wedding!

For our 50th anniversary, my children threw us a party. Knowing that I loved Klezmer music and big band music and knowing that I had played Trombone in high school they did their research and hired a band for us. They chose The Horah Machine. It was a great choice. ForFor this event the band consisted of a trombone, clarinet, string bass, drums and guitar. All of the musicians were top notch. Many of our guests told me that they really enjoyed them. They did play a few Horahs which did get both the adults and children on the dance floor and “ motoring” I had to smile every time that the trombonist played a solo as only in my dreams could I play like that.It was no surprise to me that the band was good. Its leader Lorie Wolfe is a well known Toronto Jazz and Klezmer musician. She was featured on a 30 minute documentary on YES TV in a series called Path to Creation. She knew that she wanted to be a musician from about the age of four and persisted with it. She is a percussionist. She also composes music. She also teaches music in elementary schools. Her music can have a Klezmer sound, a jazzy big band sound or a fusion of both.She is well known in the Toronto music community and she knows the talented players in this community. For the Horah Machine , she can curate a band to your needs by drawing on her knowledge of the Toronto musical community.The Horah Machine was the perfect choice for our anniversary party.

Working with Lorie and her team of very talented musicians was a wonderful experience. Their talent, musicianship, and professionalism brought joy and dance to my son's bar mitzvah that made it an event to remember with the most warm memories.
