Sobeys - Millwoods Common

Security guard was very rude to me and my 6 year old boy. He needed to use the washroom and on the way we saw a lady with the key headed back to customer service so I asked her for the key and no problem . He starts banging on the door and yelling accusing me of stealing because I left my basket on the floor OUTSIDE the bathroom! Brought key back to the old blonde manager lady and she was very grouchy and I could here her telling some employees to watch me and my son. I could see the employees behind the milk coolers watching us. I have never stolen anything. I have a decent job and shop there often because it's close to home. I won't ever shop at this place again unless it's under new management

Overall their stuff is good, the place is usually clean and they've got some nice renovations going on. The only issue I've ever encountered was a few rude employees but like 99% of the time they're all very kind and helpful. The real reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I've heard nothing but bad things about the manager/owner of the place from friends and ex-employees. He's very unfair and rude to the workers, so it's baffling to me how they're always so kind to customers but they do usually look miserable working there.I do hope that the man they were talking about no longer works there because they deserve better.

First time shopping at a Sobeys. It’s under construction right now but i can’t wait to see the finished work! It already looks really good. It’s an easy store to shop at. Even with the construction going on, you can easily find what you’re looking for. Will definitely shop there again!

First off, I want to start by saying that this Sobeys has amazing produce and is still my go-to place to purchase fruit and meat. However, with the renovation and other changes, my favorite grocery store has become not great. The removal of the air-miles program for scene points was the first disappointing factor (and I know that's a company policy and not this store specifically but it was still really upsetting). Secondly the renovation has made the aisles of the store incredibly narrow and difficult to navigate. The renovation of the meat counter also has problems since, if you want to buy something fresh you have to wait for service versus being able to just pick up the meat from the aisle. And the most unfortunate but impactful thing is that the prices have skyrocketed. It's true most places have increased prices but it's to a severe degree with Sobeys.

The renovations at this place has had recently are not that great. It's less accessible, more crowded together and the new floral section is actually more of a tripping hazard than anything else. Moving around inside and outside (even where they've finished renos) is just a pain and after a while, I'm wondering why I bother with this place when there's a tonne of options along 17st

First time at this location. Not a great impression. When I asked where something was, was told that it was where they normally are. I explain that it was my first time there. They pointed the opposite end of the store and said they were by the balloons. Not sure that BBQ chicken would be an obvious place to locate them by the balloons, but ok. Thought the other things I was looking for would be there as well since I could not easily locate another item. Asked another store employee and was redirected back to the original place, on the other side of the store. Spent a lot of time back and forth and found the disorganization and placement of products frustrating. I will not be returning or recommending.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The inside of the store isn't very nice, though. They are still under construction, so hopefully, it gets better when they are done. It just wasn't very clean and the produce department had a funny smell.

There's a better one about 2 minutes away. One member of the front end staff here is consistently so rude to customers. I've learnt to avoid her but I've seen her in the act a few times. Don't support a business who doesn't support employee professionalism and growth. New paint doesn't cover up bad attitudes.

Edited June 29 2023 :I've increased the stars from 3 to 4 because there's a handful of females (cashier, customer service, and SCO attendants) of various race on the front end and they are WONDERFUL. Shopping with a 1.5 year old fire cracker is a quest. You ladies make the end so much less painful than it is at other stores. Thank you for always talking to my daughter and spoiling her with kinder eggs on our last two visits.Original post:I'll be honest, the renovations will have the store looking great... but over half of the products I could get there (example: Jamaica Mistake dressing by Johnny's, NUMEROUS gluten free dry and frozen goods) are gone and not coming back according to the kind of snappy middle aged woman that helped" me a couple weeks ago."
