Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park
Amazing place to visit, the history is fascinating and the hoodoos make one feel like they are on another world! Bring drinking water and a hat, as the temperature and sun's intensity can be a lot higher in the coulee bottom than up top in surrounding areas. Also worth mentioning, there are pit-toilets year round but no running water til may-sept, when they also open the flush toilets and indoor faucets/water.Over-all a great place for families to visit year round!

• My site was almost perfectly level.• It was very spacious and quite deep, could have easily accommodated a much bigger rig.• My RV (26’) and toad fit in with plenty of room to spare• Site had power (30 amp), picnic table and fire pit• There are several pit toilets throughout the campground• There is shower building with flush toilets, showers are $2.00 for 5 minutes, not way to control temp, but water is warm• There is a store on site with limited selection.• Lots of things for kids and adults to do• River is about 100 feet away, hoodoo and trails right there.I truly enjoyed my stay there, however due to limited services, pay showers, cottonwood fluff like it was a blizzard and an infestation of moths I can only give this a 3 out of 5.

Absolutely beautiful. I recommend stopping in the visitor centre to grab the trail guide as each spot is marked by numbers with a description of what to look out for as some of the carvings are not obvious.

Wonderful vacation location. Be warned that this is typically a very hot destination in summer. Was only here for 2 nights of camping but got to enjoy a lot of the activities in that time: floating down the Milk River, exploring the hoodoos, taking one of the UNESCO tours of the restricted area, walking all of the hiking trails, taking in an evening interpretative shows and visiting the visitor centre and gift shop. You don't want to miss the beach, the cute bunnies, deer, and resident owl.

Writing on Stone Park is a wonderful heritage site. One of the cool things about this is that you are driving on the prairies and can't see the park until you are almost there. The interpretive centre provides lots of information about the area and history of the land. I haven't taken one of the tours before, but there are lots of places to explore in the hoodoos. There is potable water available in the camping area and interpretive centre, covered dining areas, along with pay as you go showers.

Very intriguing place to visit. The landscape is unique and offers scenic views, and not only in the summer! We went on a beautiful sunny day in January, it was calm and peaceful and there were hardly any other people around. There is an out-and-back trail to follow as well as some smaller loop trails and a campground.

We were last here 25 years ago. They have a very informative visitor Center now. Excellent place to camp and explore for the young and old, we highly recommend if you have never been here

Fabulous, reminds me of goblins park in Utah. Quiet this time of year which is a plus, graffiti is horrendous. You need to take a tour to really see any meaningful writing, but that's OK if it preserves the heritage sites.

A beautiful and unique landscape to explore. Great for kids to clamor around on the hoodoos, and the pictographs and petroglyphs are amazing! Head to the campground afterwards to play in the river on a hot day.

Love this place. Similar to Dinosaur Provincial Park but definitely worth a visit. Drive down the road towards the campground entrance and up towards the scenic viewpoint. The Battle Scene Hike is in this area separate from the visitor centre one or follow the hoodoo trail
