Canadian Western Bank

I don't usually even look at reviews but today's very poor customer service at the CWB branch on 10333 34 Ave has compelled me to write one.first of all I had to find my safety deposit box in Edmonton since the Old Strathcona branch closed without informing me (all customers??).first i was sent to the wrong branch (downtown) and sent south again.here the desk clerk was very unfriendly.the service itself was unprofessional and cumbersome. the poor young woman at the counter obviously hadn't done the procedure and asked the said desk clerk who treated her equally unfriendly and made the interaction uncomfortable to witness.I have been a customer with CWB for almost two decades. professional and friendly customer service is one reason.today was a rude wake-up call!you must do better, Gateway branch!

Very bad service. I have a business account in this branch for almost a year.at the time of opening my account they set up my debit card limit $100 daily at that time I understood that my account is new and perhaps I can live with that, at this time I asked them to raise my withdraw limit to bit higher , I was told that I would need to go through a credit check, when I asked them why do I need a credit check to withdraw my own money, Alanda who was dealing with me had no answer and she didn't reply to my email. I don't recommend this bank.

First time in the new branch on 34th Ave today. The building is nice but the people were not. We felt like we were bothering the receptionist by simply being there. Then when we got to the teller he didn’t say a single word to us. Took our cheque, called his manager (about who knows what?) and then stoically sent us on our way. We paid off our mortgage today and are very happy but our experience at this branch detracted from that. I’m not asking for a confetti cannon, but a smile and an actual conversation wouldn’t hurt.

Quite possibly the worst team of customer service reps I have ever encountered in my Life. Very unhelpful, won't answer phone calls Wont return phone calls. Been lied to at least 3-4 times. Receptionists are snooty and ignorant. Completely unwilling to be any sort of help whatsoever. Seem to have made an art out of telling you what you want to hear over the phone to get rid of you, only to change there story the next day. Id highly recommend avoiding any sort of dealing with this branch

Do not open an account unless your a well off and have a positive credit score . The lady questioned me how do you have a credit card and no credit score. I replied I'm not sure what that means even. I would like to have a basic bank account , to save for recreation only but she said that's not possible. I decided to go here because I believe in supporting local . Guess what they dont care . Perhaps there was more then meets the eye , unfortunately the reality is we are human beings and biases, may and will exist.

Nick is a great addition to your team!! He took great care in looking into a failed e transfer. Had the situation corrected in an efficent manner and a very nice person!!Happy holidays to you and your wonderful team !!!

We've been customers of this branch for 30+ years.Excellent service with everything, from savings accounts, GIC's, RRSP's, and most recently with retirement financial planning and Mutuals (Marilyn D.). Customers are promptly greeted at the counter with a front counter rep, with minimal standing in line. Outstanding service, compared to TD, CIBC, and Royal Bank, which we also have accounts with, to a much lesser degree.

We have been banking at this location for over ten years. We moved to Sherwood Park and still came to this branch due to the friendly staff who are more than willing to help us out with online banking questions even though that is not part of their jobs. The manager is very friendly as are the regular staff. As this branch does a lot of training the counter staff turns over fairly frequently but the core staff have been there for years and really know their stuff. We particularly enjoy going on the door and being greeted by name.

The staff at this Branch are great. They are courteous and very accomodating. I moved my accounts from the Jasper Ave - 103 Street Brance because of the staff.
