Big Hill Springs Provincial Park

Small but very nice natural area park with a spring-fed creek that runs in all seasons. In the summer it can be quite busy but winter is a good time to visit when fewer people are on the trails. There are some interesting geological features along the trails and signage discussing the history of the area. There is also a lot of wildlife in the area and makes for some good bird watching.The recently upgraded boardwalks over the creek are a nice touch and make for intuitive stops along the trails. The trails are fairly short and should be manageable for kids. The upper part of the park is a bit steeper and uneven and may be challenging for people with mobility issues. Regardless, the lower half of the park is easy to explore and enjoy.

Really amazing park to go. Hidden gem near Calgary. Only about half hour driving. Hiking trail is easy with great view of mountains and streams. Mini waterfalls along the trail. It’s just feel so harmony with the sound of water flow. Good for walking but be careful some part of trail is not well maintained so maybe slippery. It’s also a picnic area so I guess in summer will be much busier.

I just needed to get away from the city for even a few hours and was told about this park. It really isn't that far away and it is a super easy hike for those quick getaways. Bring a jacket...forgot mine and I'm still froze ( o o)

Beautiful small natural area. Family friendly easy hike. There are one or two small waterfalls in south loop and Beautiful view from north loop. Both the loops are easy & short.There are few picnic tables close to the parking lot. Small parking lot & it is free.Washrooms are also close to the parking area.

This is a wonderful small Provincial Park only 20 minutes outside of Calgary. Perfect for a small and easy stroll, very nice and relaxing to walk along the springs and the nice little falls and hear the song of the water. Only downside is it can be very busy on the weekends and holidays.

This was a beautiful experience!! The water in the creek crystal clear! Not a very long hike but beautiful!Tip, it can get icy wear your spikes.

A bit too crowded for my liking. The nature and waterfalls are lovely. But no matter where you are it seems to always be lots of people coming and going.

Absolutely worth visiting. The loop walk isn't long though there is a bit of an incline. There are benches to sit on along the way. So beautiful, if you have the time definitely take a visit.

Wow! What a beautiful place, the hike is easy, the water is gorgeous. We will definitely go see it during summer.
