Richmond Hill David Dunlap Observatory
Its a great place to experience the astronomy. This place is regional centre for education and public outreach related to astronomy. Lectures and family tours are available time by time. Just check out their website. The building is very pretty and old. The surrounding is spacious and parking is free and abundant.

Richmond Hill David Dunlap Observatory
I walk my dog here weekly. Many different paved and cleaned trails to take, surrounded by brand new large homes. The most majestic walk is actually the entrance from Hillsview to the Observatory but keep your eyes open, deer still roam this area.

We had a great experience here with the Planetarium dome. It's definitely more suited towards older kids 10+ but our kids still enjoying the images/videos and the time lapses.

We went to a family astrology night. The demo was interesting and we learned a lot. Sadly, it was not a clear night and didn't open the dome. Still loved to see and learn about the telescope. We often also walk the trails here on weekends.

This facility has the largest telescope in Canada (1.88m reflector telescope). This Observatory was the forefront of Canadian astronomical research under the University of Toronto and later Royal AstronomicalSociety of Canada. Now, the Richmond Hill Council has designated it as a property of cultural heritage value or interest."Never in the Dome before and was amazed with the “structure”. It looks a bit old but still stands strongly up there. I believe it will take up a huge amount of $ to maintain

A hidden gem in Richmond Hill. Very cool historical building and exhibit and massive telescope. The grounds are nice to walk around and there is a park as well.

Richmond Hill David Dunlap Observatory
I had the desire to see this observatory two years ago, but because of the epidemic and other reasons this building was not opened. Today I finally came to visit it. The exhibition hall was very nice, the customer service staff was very welcoming and the volunteers here were also very good. I will come back next time.

Here is a historic treasure in Richmond Hill. It's great that it has been preserved. A very well kept site. Everyone should go for the self guided tour, it's free. Great walkjng trails on in the park area, picnic tables too.
