Hello everyone , here is my story. I am doing a basement and wanted a fireplace installed and also the stone work, but who do you get? I checked around and found that you could buy a fireplace but had to get different sub contractors to do the install and stone work. This I did NOT want, but found Chemong Chimney does it ALL, and that is a sign of a good company!! I had them over for an estimate for complete install of a new fireplace and stone work and they were here when they said they would be. I was very impressed with how they tried to help me with suggestions, and again relieved that they take care of everything from start to finish. I will admit as it is a big project that I had my concerns as I would have with any contractor but found out they were all for NOTHING !! These guys are real ARTISTS with the stonework. They came in and installed the new fireplace and stonework and were so careful of my new paint job and so clean . They are proud of what they do and they should be as the quality of work is FANTASTIC. If you have any concerns , just ask them they will help you. You get what you pay for, and I received nothing but professionalism from them. This is a Real REFERENCE and feel free to ask them for references , as we are one.!! Chemong Chimney replaced my chimney liner and fixed some other problems in the stove pipe configuration and did a good job for us, particularly Al Oosting. I've been in the house for about 20 years, and the woodstove never drafted well. I had it inspected twice in the first few years I was in the house, but the previous inspectors just figured I needed my chimney higher (which we did, but only helped a bit). Al saw some bigger problems right away; fixed those things when they put in the new liner and its burning way better than ever..

As far as the workers who were here, I give them a 5 star rating. They were professional, very courteous, polite and did a great job. Explained everything well before doing any repairs and both guys were extremely pleasant and personable.As far as the owner goes, I give him a 2 star rating at best. First of all he never did call back to arrange an appointment. He said he needed to check the schedule first and call me back but he never did. That was on a Thursday so I called the company again on the following Monday. It was only then that an appointment was scheduled.Secondly, the service call price was outrageous at $180. I know they come from Bridgenorth and I live in North Kawartha (a half hour NE of Lakefield) but that's still a total rip off for the service call alone. One of the workers asked if I had been given a quote when I arranged the appointment and I told him that I had not. He said normally a quote is given. When telling the workers that the price sure was a rip off (not their fault), the 1 guy said that a service call just to Lakefield is $160. Again, outrageous! It takes all of about 10 minutes to drive from Bridgenorth to Lakefield.It shows on their website that their show room is in Bridgenorth but the owner said the workers would be leaving from Ennismore. Either way, I know where Ennismore is and it's not that much further than Bridgenorth ... 5 minutes or a bit more.I do live in an area that is far enough away, that whenever any repairs need done, any kind of contractor has to come from at least as far away as Lakefield and I've even had contractors come from Peterborough. I have never had the initial service call fee be even as much as $100. This company is a TOTAL rip off when it comes to the initial service call fee.

Professional and friendly. Went above and beyond expectations. Our installers Nate and Jeremy did a great job. They took the time to explain everything and make sure we were fully aware of everything occurring.
