Delicious, looking forward to coming back here often.Found by accident. I've read there are often long lines, I was able to sit right away with no line. Fantastic food.

Very unique experience. The Tatchan noodle combo was bomb! Be ready to line up. Get there early. Check their instagram for most up to date schedule. Recommend.

An unique experience that invokes the image of a traditional noodle cart. The pork belly melts in your mouth yet doesn't feel greasey. The noodles are quite bouncy and fun. The thing to note is that this place isn't open every day, you have to check their Instagram.

Today we could finally be able to try this Okinawa ramen (or soba). There was always a lineup so we could never try it.We got here for dinner. We found free street parking on Nanaimo Street and 21st Ave. It is also close to Nanaimo Skytrain station, so it’s convenient for people to take skytrain to come here.We got the Tatchan Combo. It had chicken broth, pork soft bone, pork belly, dried bonito, black fungus, green onions, kikurage, and red ginger. The presentation looked like a bowl of regular ramen. The first sip of the soup gave us an impression of eating this special ramen/soba in Okinawa. It was so different from ramens in Hokkaido, Tokyo, Osaka, etc. The meat of pork soft bone was very soft and tender and the soft bone was soft as well. The pork belly was so soft that it could literally melt in our mouth. The fitness and texture of the ramen or soba was about right. Not too firm or too soft. The business owner was very friendly and he talked about Okinawa or his origin. It was a great chat about food and culture.

Arrived for dinner about 15 minutes after opening on a sunny Saturday and there was already a line up. Waited around 1.5 hours but we found it was worth the wait! Broth was delicious, and service was great too! Limited menu items but I believe it’s just the owner cooking and it makes for food to arrive to the table in a timely manner.

Tatchan doesn't have regular hours, instead they post on instagram the days and times that they will open for that week.Go early: each night they will make ~60 bowls of noodles. We got there ~25min after they opened, at which point they had already started turning people away due to limited food. There were only 14 seats when we went: with 60 people in line we waited just over an hr to get seated.Pretty decent noodles in the end though, just really hard to get a spot.

The texture of the noodles, perfect. The meat, so tender. The broth, umami. Everything together, excellent.Line started forming 30 minutes before opening when I went. 8 people can be served at a time. 4 seated and 4 standing. Owner/chef is very nice. Payment by card is available.Highly recommended.

After trying for a few months to catch a bite at Tatchan, I finally was able to grab a take out order through IG messages. Got a tatchan combo with both the pork belly and soft bone pork.Absolutely delicious.Definitely good quality handmade soba style noodles and a delicious full broth. Way better than most Japanese noodle shops in Vancouver.I would suggest going earlier or later than normal meal times, as there is limited seating and can mean a wait, but after the rush there is usually room (not too much later or they'll wrap up for the day!).Definitely recommended.
