Courtyard by Marriott Waterloo St. Jacobs

We reserved 2 rooms for a wedding this past weekend. We arrived early and Marie was very accommodating in getting us checked in early so we could get ready for the ceremony.We had to bring the dog with us and this really is a pet friendly place. As our dog is diabetics and super anxious, we were very happy when Olivia called us to say he was whining and to ask if everything was ok. We had to leave him on his own again for the reception and we were very hesitant about doing so. Olivia said not to worry, she’d look in on him and see what she could do to settle him down. That was SO appreciated as it was a family wedding and we really had to be there!Thank you for the great service. We highly recommend the hotel and the kind, compassionate staff. Will definitely be back.

I will start by saying the front desk staff were very kind, friendly and accommodating. However, the hotel was a complete disaster. First glance the hotel room suite was okay. I had booked (king bedroom suite with pullout sofa bed). Please do not let the pictures fool you. The room itself is very small. It is not a separate room it’s all in one space.When we opened the pull out sofa the mattress was stained in different places and had some type of bugs on it. The staff accommodated and moved us to a different room. We checked the second room. As I opened the sofa bed a cricket started to move around. At this point we decided to no longer stay at this residence. There is also no courtyard at the courtyard by Marriott. Please be aware when booking this location

I had to stay for one night unexpectedly. The staff were extremely accomodating and helpful. Brought food to my room from bistro although they do not have room service, rather than have me run down and pick it up after ordering. Small things like makeup wipes in the bathroom went a long way. Room was large and felt newly renovated, as did bathroom. Comfy bed, very large couch and larger than usual TV. Nice desk space. Staff were excellent.

Most underrated pet friendly hotel for MILES around.Instantly inviting, incredible staff. Gym is clean new, desk clerks know the hotel very well, free parking. Totally worth the extra 5 mins outside of Waterloo for tranquility, awesome front desk, and ultra clean rooms. Thank you Mariana. You were the best representative of a hotel we have seen, and we travel A LOT.

The rooms are nice and clean.The hotel is located within walking distance to the St. Jacob's market.I gave the service 1 star because whomever our team manager spoke to said we could have complementary use of a board room to have a team potluck dinner and said we didn't need to book it ahead of time, but when we got there after our ringette game to have the team dinner the front desk person said that we needed to book it.So we had to have the team dinner in the lobby with no tables and not enough seats for everyone.

Overall a pleasant visit. The service was good although the front desk wasn't able to suggest a restaurant in nearby St. Jacobs which surprised us. The fireplace in the room was a nice touch. Hotel was generally in good shape and clean except for the hair in the shower.

I come to Waterloo once every quarter for the past year and every time I come to this hotel I'm greeted with smiling faces. Over time. The staff has come to know me and my colleagues and it is only enhanced the experience here.The rooms are always nice and clean, the bed is comfortable, the showers are hot. There's a small fitness center that me and my co-workers will go to when we don't drink too heavily the night before.It is right next to the massive St. Jacob Marketplace and very close to several different restaurants, grocery stores, and coffee shops. There's a charming little playhouse next door and it's right next to the countryside.I easily recommend this hotel for either business or pleasure and I hope that the staff gets the recognition they deserve for making each and every one of my stays Such a delight

Visited last minute and was looking for a room with a jacuzzi, Marriott had one. Checked in and did the inspection at first glance the room is great, 142. Upon closer look, the shower has not been properly cleaned in some time as you can see staining and grime build up. The biggest issue I had was the bed, paying couple hundred bucks, a good night sleep is sort of expected. The mattress looked to be about from the 90s and it was heavily used, with severe lack of support, it’s a mattress you’d expect to find at a roadside motel in the middle of nowhere. I asked if it could be swapped etc, found the mattress from the pullout bed was almost more comfortable. I did not end up staying the night.Paid less across the street, same last minute booking for literally 1/2 the price, no jacuzzi. Clean, Crisp, and comfy.
