Afghan Horsemen Restaurant
Delicious food with friendly staff. They were really accommodating and explained the menu items for us. It was my first time trying lamb shoulder and it was fabulous. The rice was full of different spices such as cinnamon, turmeric, and cumin with a little sweetness from the carrots and raisins. About the other dish I need to say I usually don’t find vegetarian dishes at restaurants super tasty and it wasn’t an exception. I didn’t like it much. It was good but not for me :)))Next time I’ll get the lamb shank.

This place far exceeded my expectations!I went in expecting good food, and the first thing you notice is the place has a slick vibe. When our meals came, just wow - it was all soooooo good. We repeatedly complimented our meals to the staff, and the staff were very pleasant to chat with as they served our meals and checked in on us.This place is worth the short walk from Granville Island if you are hungry and want a great meal!

Wonderful experience and great way to spend Father's day. Food to die for, freshly made and perfect size plates. We were welcomed in a friendly manner and the music made the ambience a perfect experience. I will highly recommend and we will definitely be back soon!

If there was a way I would have given them 10 stars, the food is absolutely perfect, the lamb shoulder was my favourite, one of the best ones I had in Vancouver. The staff are so kind and friendly it’s like you have been invited to their home not their restaurant. One of the best places to have a birthday party. Definitely coming back.

We had an absolutely delicious dinner this evening. This was our first time here and the staff was friendly, patient and very informative. We had two platters to share between four of us which was more than plenty. The food itself was so fresh and full of flavour. On the way out, we had a lovely conversation with a gentleman who I believe is the owner/manager. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening there. We will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I had dinner and I enjoyed both the food and service. I ordered the vegetarian special which was good. We decided to sit on the pillows for a unique dinning experience and this was lovely. Finally, the service was good. Overall a great experience and I would come back here.

We sat at the cushion room for the experience and it was fun!! (Not so much if your legs aren’t flexible)The Platter for Two was sooo filling, definitely can feed at least 3 people!The portions were really generous. The appetizer of dips, salad, and bread was already quite filling.The lamb in the platter was so tender and definitely was the highlight for me.I really appreciate how much variety was included in the platter. Definitely recommend!

I love the atmosphere with draped clothes and the private booths or two traditional floor seating dining rooms. Dinner for two was enough for three with leftovers.I was sad to skip dessert as menu looked amazing but I had too much food!

This is a great Afghan restaurant. The food is delicious. The staff is friendly. The decorations of the restaurant are authentic, and the music is mostly Afghan. They are also located in a nice place in Granville Island. So, if you are visiting from out of town, you can kill two birds with one stone and have a good time in Granville Island, and enjoy some delicious Afghan food!

My favourite gem in Vancouver. You can tell it’s family owned, everyone is friendly. I always get the vegetarian platter with extra dahl, Afghan tea, a plate of their AMAZING pakawra. My partner gets their famous lamb. My dad loves their soups! Sometimes they have a belly dancer and she’s incredible, we would clap and cheer with other diners. They accommodate food restrictions, call beforehand. Try parking up the street or further in advance because the lot is small!
