Fraser Valley Cataract & Laser - Dr. Gabriel Chu

First of all, I would like to say “Thank you” to Dr. Chu and his team.I have been in fear since I decided to get a cataract surgery. But when my surgery was done, I realized that fear was unnecessary. The surgery took only 5 to not even 10 minutes without pain. Yes! No pain at all. After the cataract surgery, I couldn’t believe the view spreading in front of me. The scenery is the same but the view is totally different. Everything is just like flipping a page. Now I am living in totally different world. I am very happy my cataract surgery done by Dr. Chu. He is amazing

Had a great time. From the time I walked into the clinic until the time I walked out, the staff were friendly and quick. It didn't take a long time Before I got to see the doctor. He was very informed and was able to put my worries at ease. Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Dr. Chu is amazing. Jenny, didn't quite explain everything to me when I went for my eye measurements, which put me under a little stress, but was quickly clarified by Caitlin. My overall experience has been awesome. I would refer and have already referred a few people to FVCL.

My experience was great from start to finish. I was at the Abbotsford clinic with Dr Chu. He was informative and personable. From the first appointment to surgery was one week. Dr Chu was kind and reassuring when I expressed my nervousness. The surgery went well and my droopy eyelids are replaced by natural looking bright open lids. I would definitely recommend Fraser Valley Cataracts and Laser.

I was very happy with the service I received at Fraser Valley cataract and laser. The staff were extremely efficient and pleasant. Everything ran very smoothly. Dr. Chu did an excellent job in removing my cataracts and replacing the lenses. My vision is better than it’s been in years.

This clinic is sometimes on-call. That means emergency patients are sometimes brought in from the hospital. If that happens while you're waiting, you may have to wait a bit longer. The wait is usually not that bad, because this a very comfortable and well air conditioned environment.I have my regular checkups here, and I always find my visits to be timely and pleasant. The staff are amazing and super friendly, and the doctors are very professional and helpful. I've been here several times in the last year, and each time I've had a wonderful experience.

My grandpa had cataract surgery here and had a great experience during his counseling session. Very informative and organized.

**EDIT** Upon this review...I was contacted by the office regarding my concern. I mentioned the impersonal 'sales approach' feeling I had on my voicemail. Well...apparently they are no longer going to reach out to customers re: private surgery costs..except at the office. THAT IS AWESOME !. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO YOUR PATIENTS *****.. ... (Original review listed below) Went to get my hooded eyelid reviewed abt a year ago. Was told it wasn't that bad, but if I wanted it done for $3k, I could. I said no..the next follow up appt 6 mths later, it still wasn't bad, so it was left again (which is fine)...but about two months after that...I got a voicemail offering me the private surgery at a cost. That sounds like desparation...no thanks.

2yrs plus ago needed help with a skin problem on eyelids and a large blue growth inside corner of an eye i had 3 referred booked appointments nothing was ever done or even discussed about it . now all is way worse WOULD NEVER REFER TO THIS OFFICE

Have always been treated professionally with everyone at Fraser Valley Cataract & Lazer. As well the equipment they use and how it is administered seems like the very best for the problems I have presented. This has given me confidence that whatever happens in the future to my eyes (and it is happening) I will get the best of care or be referred to the right place if needed. Thank you!
