Bow River Veterinary Centre

We brought our pup to Bow River as an emergency as we we visiting from out of town. They immediately fit her in and gave her the best care. Dr. Katya was very thorough and the rest of the staff was wonderful. They sent us home with lots of information and everything we needed to get our pup well again. They also followed up the next day to make sure everything was still on track and sent all the info to our regular vet. I highly recommend Bow River.

Everyone I’ve encountered has been so helpful and kind. Just got my pup groomed there for the first time and Alex did an amazing job. I feel confident my dog will be well taken care of. I highly recommend bringing your furry friends here.

We have been patients of this vet since moving to Canmore in October and we cannot say enough good things about them! All the staff are amazing with our dog, Olive. She actually enjoys going to the vet!

I was in Banff for a quick walk with my small yorkshire when he was attacked by 3 very aggressive dogs. Although the dogs were on a leash, they were so strong that the owner fell down and he was dragged while the attack happened. So my visit to the Bow River Veterinary was because of an emergency, but I must say the staff took care of my dog and of myself. I was so scared, crying all the time because my dog had a bite in his neck, but I could not ask for better staff than them. I really appreciate all the care with us, and I would like you guys to know that Shadow is healed and healthy again!

The entire staff at Bow River Veterinary is amazing. So friendly, patient, helpful and knowledgeable. Dr Melnick always listens to any concerns, and takes the time to explain everything to us. We know our high maintenance, hot mess Boston Terrier Walter is always in good hands and we trust them completely. We have never been steered wrong. They don’t try to sell us on unnecessary procedures or products. It is clear they all want what’s best for the animals. He has been coming here for 11 years. They are also the only people who can cut his nails. Walter can get a little spicy at the vet, but he is always greeted with smiles. We love and highly recommend this clinic.

I have not been going to Bow River Vet in Canmore for the last couple of years because I feel like their service really changed (gone downhill) with the change of ownership. I have been going to the animal clinic in Cochrane and have had a fantastic service.This week thought I was in a pinch as I needed to get my dog’s shots renewed before boarding. I called them and made an appointment and was very clear that I needed ONLY 2 shots the Bordetella and DPP shot. Receptionist said it was not a problem and to come at 9 for the 2 shots. My mom took in my dog as I had a meeting at that time and let them know she was not the owner but just helping out. When she was about to pay the vet came out and told her that my dog needed one more shot. The vet proceeded to give my dog a shot that I did not request and administer it at the front desk. Also got charged over $60 for it. The vet had administered another shot I did not ask for which my dog already had valid until end of 2025 and has not asked permission to the owner to do so. I called the clinic upset about it and asked for a refund and also making sure my dog was okay with 2 shots. They said they would call back with a decision from the owner about a refund the next day. It’s now been 2 days and no one has reached out. Terrible service. Never will go there again.

We weren’t a client, just passing through when my dog needed to be euthanized. This clinic not only got us in on extremely short notice but one of the staff hung out with our daughter so both myself and my husband could be there with our dog in her final moments. This is without a doubt the most compassionate and caring facility we have ever been to. These people are amazing and truly care about their clients and animals. I cannot thank you enough for your help on one of our worst days. Riot was lucky to have all of you help her cross the rainbow bridge.
