I’ve been here a few times with my children and my girl guides group, and it’s such a great place. Lots for kids to explore and there’s often great programs going on. The grounds are beautiful. And as a photographer this is my favourite place to take photos!

Stop off here on your way to Elora or Fegus. It only takes 30 mins or so to take in the exhibits. The grou ds are beautiful and the buildings impressive. You could easily visit a few times and pick out different parts to focus on.

Interesting little museum. Entrance is donation based and kids can get a scavenger hunt list that will keep them busy and let the adults enjoy the exhibits.

Had a great experience here. Beautiful grounds and premises. Exhibits were interesting and fascinating. I was lucky enough to have a group guided tour with Katie (who was super friendly and veritable fount of knowledge) and was allowed to see the third floor storage and the underground tunnels and boilers. Reputed to be haunted, but alas - no manifestations.Plenty of parking, huge playground for the kids, no admission fee but donations are welcomed.

Across the road from the museum is a short trail where you can view some ruins. This was used to supply water to the House of Refuge - now known as the museum. Interesting info board and nice trail that goes thru woods and along the water.

The museum is well maintained. There are some interesting exhibitions going on. If you go to Elora, don’t miss this place.
