Sang-Ji生煎包DT

I have known this store for a while but had no chances to try it until today. I was very happy.Being a Shanghainese, I have very high standards for my Shengjian Bao. Their dishes left me with a strong impression.The crust of the Bao was super crunchy, the Bao is filled with meat and hot soup. If you like Xiaolongbao, you will like this too. Shengjian Bao is Xiaolongbao on steroids. I also order a side of small wonton soup.Since today was the first day of the official opening, it was a bit hectic as the servers are still ironing out their process. However, the manager was very responsive and apologetic. I am sure they will eventually have a smooth operation.The seating can fix 30 plus people in total. You can either dine in or take out. It's the first day, so it might be different for you. The waiting was about 10 minutes during lunch hours for dine in and 20 minutes for take out orders.I highly recommend the store and will definitely bring my kids to try.

Fantastic they have a downtown location now as well! Quick and polite service with an expanded menu. Same great quality as the north york location. Warm soothing soup broth, and they don’t skimp on wontons, the baos are perfectly steam-fried with the generous amount of soup and meat filling and the peanut scallion noodles have a lot of flavour despite it being a simple dish. Their Chili oil isn’t too spicy and well-balanced. Bring cash if you can, there’s a discount when you in cash.

Great new place opened up serving fresh sang-ji bao. Don't skip out on the noodles though, the duck noodles with tofu puffs is delicious

very juicy and tasty sang ji bao ( dumpling ), we tried a noodle too, tasty but just a bit oily.

I go to the North York location often so I was excited when I saw they opened up this location downtown! It's their first week open, so they were very busy, I was told it would be a 20 minute wait for takeout but I ended up waiting 40 minutes. I just ordered two of the original bao too, and a lot of people that came after me got their order first. Otherwise the baos were fantastic as usual!

Great dumpling place right beside Bloor and Yonge Station. If you like really crispy fired dumpling skins, compared to the softer chewier ones at Juicy Dumpling, then this is the place for you.We tired everything, but if we went there again just get the classic Sang-Ji Bao and don't waste your time on the other stuff. The original Bao is just that good!

Wow, the classic baos are seriously good. Flavorful soup on the inside, partially crunchy exterior and delicious meat. The wonton soup as well was amazing, especially the broth. Will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in the Yonge & Bloor area.

Both curry and original soup dumplings were so amazing. The filling was flavorful but when you combine it with the pan fried crispy bottom of the dumpling. Outstanding. The place is very popular for a reason it does not disappoint.

I'm Shanghainese and this is pretty good and authentic. Thanks for bringing this to Toronto!I went there on a weekday after lunch hour. I called to order and was able to pick it up within 5-10 mins. They were still steaming hot. They also prepared vinegar and chopsticks for me without asking. Great services!
