Ballet Espressivo

Online private classes with Donna are always one of the bright spots in my week! I started taking group classes in person with Donna many years ago, and when everything transitioned online I was initially hesitant about how much I would be able to keep progressing and whether I would still be able to learn small pieces of choreography to music, which I greatly enjoy. I was so pleasantly surprised. Donna's detailed, rigorous approach to teaching didn't change at all in the transition to online classes, and with one-on-one attention, my progress has been even more noticeable than before. Nothing is lost in the online experience - Donna is able to make the same helpful corrections, we can still do all our exercises to music, she choreographs sequences that I can do in my space at home, and she often asks about the other sports I participate in and incorporates ballet exercises that will help my strength and balance in those activities. If anyone is unsure about online ballet classes I would highly recommend giving one with Donna a try!

I've been taking dance lessons with Donna for a year and a half now and the experience has been so amazing. Ballet is such a beautiful art form, it makes you feel so elegant and strong. Donna offers classes at many different times throughout the week to accommodate any schedule. She also offers modern dance classes which help students understand spatial relationships in dance. Her floor barre class is challenging but so rewarding and strengthening. Ballet has become such an important aspect of my health and I consider it a necessity. I wouldn't dance with any other studio than Ballet Espressivo. No other teacher is as dedicated to safety and integrity towards her students.

Have been learning Ballet here with Donna for about 2 years, I can feel the improvement with not only my techniques but also the positivity it brings to my posture and life in general. Its not like any other dance school. Donna cares about every single studeny and the classes really focus on building a solid foundation and doing things right instead of doing things fast, which really really helps in a long term. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

I am very glad I found this studio. Donna is such a great teacher. Her classes are very informative and high quality. I have been coming here for a year now and I leave every class learning valuable things about ballet and my body. My posture has improve tremendously. This is not a fitness class although you will be training, it is learning the art of ballet that will strength your body and brain.

I have been taking adult Ballet classes here for 8 months. Donna is a very patient teacher. She gives attention to each student and help students grow dancing skills at all levels of experience. I have learnt a lot from her. I really enjoyed the classes and started to love ballet more!

I signed up for ballet-barre class because I wanted to work on my core and do something different.... this class has been challenging but incredibly effective! I'm seeing results! And it is all because of Donna! Donna is a teacher that truly cares about the progress of her students, ... her corrections, adjustments and consistent attention is a demonstration of her commitment! It was wonderful to learn from her over the winter and I look forward to our spring classes.

I have been working with Donna for over 5 years now and even through the pandemic and my relocating away from Toronto, Donnas has really worked at maintaining the same level of teaching through online classes. I take both individual and group class and it's wonderful that I don't have to worry about travel time. I have even done my classes with her from out of country! Donna's teaching has been body changing for me - she has helped me in addressing so many of my issues/habits. Highly recommend!

I have been dancing with Donna since 2018. I love the experience and training Donna provided. She is a teacher, an artist, and a mentor in many ways and I absolutely enjoyed my journey with her. If you are interested in adult ballet, I highly recommend her class. You will be able to build the techniques and gain exposure to classical ballet continuously. It's never too late to discover your passion in dancing!

Donna is an amazing teacher! I was a student of Donna for several years both in studio and online during the pandemic. She is serious about the progress of her students and provides clear details regarding corrections and suggestions for improvement.I can attribute my posture and balance improvements, as well as my improved physical strength to Donna and her teaching methods and dedication. Another unexpected benefit was my improved rhythm as she encouraged me to start learning to play the piano, which benefited my ballet techniques and other methods of dance. Highly recommend her classes!

I can't recommend Donna and Ballet Espressivo enough. Having danced from age 2-15 I was inspired to start again at 28 and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. Donna works with me to ensure positive experiences and improved physical wellbeing over progress and flexibility, things that are often centralized at the expense of the dancer and their adult bodies. Every time class ends I come away feeling better (and often smarter thanks to her tips) than I did before. Thank you Donna!
