That 50's Barber Shop

Met Barber Dave on Twitter and had to stop into his cool cat 50’s themed and get my partner a cut and beard trim. Barber Dave did a great job and is the nicest guy you could ever meet. Highly recommend!

Dave was so wonderful giving my nervous two year-old his first haircut today! He was kind and patient and managed to give him a great looking cut quickly and efficiently, even with lots of squirming. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks Barber Dave!

My go to barber. Dave does an amazing job of keeping a traditional 50s feel to his barbershop. 1 man, 1 haircut. It nice to not have other people around and be able to just chat 1 on 1 while getting my haircut. Dave also does a great job and I would highly recommend to anyone

Over the years I had my hair cut just twice at this barber shop. However, I had seen an article in our local newspaper about the owner of the barber shop. It was about the work he and other volunteers were doing to help kids in need. School supplies, backpacks and other things. I was greatly moved by the article. So, I decided to go and get my hair cut at his shop. While cutting my hair I asked him about the work he is doing to help children in need. This man was very humble in his reply. Mostly giving praise to the other volunteers and people that were giving their time, money and other things that the families of the children may need. When it came time to pay for my haircut, which was excellent I might add. I made a donation and told him that it was an honor to meet him and he now has a new regular customer. If you need a haircut please go to the 50's Barber Shop. By the way. His shop is really like walking back in time. Loved it.

I get a very standard short hair cut, but my particular hair and head make it challenging to do well. I go to place after place; stylists and barbers, just trying to find someone who will do a competent job... This barber was not up to the challenge. I gave him a second chance, and it was worse than the first one (like actual missed spots). Nice guy, nice shop, maybe the skill set is there if he'd put more effort in- given that each time he's only actually had the scissors on me for 2-3 mins of a 13 min cut. Clearly other people have better experiences; I can only assume they have non-challenging heads and hair grains, but all the other literal barbers I've tried in the greater downtown area have done a better job- though they all made me a little uncomfortable in other ways, so I'm still searching :(

Dave is an great barber. This place has an awesome atmosphere decorated with lots of cool '50s memorabilia and vintage barber chairs. Very friendly and professional, interesting conversation, and most importantly a very nice haircut. Hadn't had a haircut in 31 months and was wary if I'd be satisfied with short hair but Dave did it just how I imagined. Thanks for making that a very easy, pleasant experience. Also a great local business that gives back to the community. Will be returning, highly recommend.
