The Pioneer

Invited here for a live music event that turned out to be much more than we all thought it would be. We thought we were going to see four musicians play their sets, but instead for a musicians sat facing each other told a series of stories and then rift off each other for the entire evening in a delightful and experiential entertainment event. It's a beautiful space and I look forward to my next visit and Calgary to see what they might be hosting then.

Came here for the candlelit concert in the winter and it’s a lovely venue.Everything was beautifully set up, and following Covid protocols.

Clean and flexible multi use venue! Good lighting and easy access for guests and vendors to get to. Definitely recommend!

This space is incredible. The staff is so kind and helpful . A great choice of venue for any event the old sandstone and the modern feel is just perfect you can have your mix of both ! It is wheelchair accessible which is a huge plus ! They have on site items to use which can save time ! They have just built a stunning new bar the features wall look amazing. What a fantastic space ! Thanks so much for your support towards our event for Breast Cancer Awareness!Calgary Venue with endless possibility. From lighting to space you will not be disappointed!

We had our company 25th anniversary party at The Pioneer. I cannot say enough great things about the place and the people. Highly recommend the location for any function. You can have a them run throughout or with multi levels, you can create a different theme per room. Amazing. Our party was a huge success.

Great drink, hosted a fantastic night ! Quite possibly the new spot to look out for on Stephan Ave.

This venue was perfect for our wedding ceremony last summer. It looked so beautiful and allowed me to create the exact vision I had in mind. The location was fun and vibrant and made for great photos both inside and outside on Stephen Ave. The staff were flexible and accommodating.I wish I had gone with my original plan of having a DJ on site to run the ceremony music rather than utilizing the in-house music system. The system crashed halfway through my ceremony so a few important moments were without music which was quite disappointing (as any bride knows..the playlist is very well thought out for every little moment!). That would be my only complaint of an otherwise perfect ceremony!

It was an absolute pleasure to provide technology for a private event for XERO here! Plenty of available circuits with good ampage, accommodating staff (particularly Wyatt), and reasonably good loading dock access (given it's downrown). Would be happy to work here again; thanks, folks! :)

On June 11 Epilepsy Association of Calgary hosted 130 guests, performers, artists and event volunteers and at its inaugural Purple Day by Night fundraising gala at The Pioneer. This was such a special night and the venue itself added to the magic of a bustling late spring evening on Stephen Avenue. Guests and event volunteers were pleased with all aspects of the event and we've booked the venue for 2023. Thank you Heather Coke and team for your patience and helpful guidance in making our night a success!
