I've been living in Nanaimo for about four years but, whenever I passed by Flying Fish by, I kept thinking that it is a furniture store. However, it turns out that this is a lovely cooking and baking supply store that has many of the kitchen essentials that I've struggled to locate in the various big-box stores around town.The owners and staff are friendly and helpful, and the selection for most things is varied and fun. I expect I'll keep coming back here as I uplevel my cooking skills and I highly recommend this shop for angle looking for that one special tool or utensil.

The Flying Fish is a locally owned treasure. What a great place to spend some time browsing through a wide variety of interesting, high quality kitchen, home decor, clothing and jewelry items. The friendly owners and staff are present, welcoming and helpful in just the right measure and tone. So glad they have weathered the pandemic storm.
