Nice hike/trek (50-52 km). We did it in 2 days with 1 night at Carey Brook CabinRenting a cabin is a must: 60$ a night for sleeping dry inside with a fireplace(stove) and a barrel of water included. Really nice service (you still need to bring mastress and sleeping bag).Saw many seals in Key hool brook.A lot of nice beaches along the way all for you (we met maybe a total of 6 peoples during 2 days).Drinkable water at the park entrance and many brooks along the hike for refills

Cape Chignecto Provincial Park
My partner and I completed a 51 KM thru-hike in the park. The paths were very well indicated and well maintained. We found the help provided at the front office quite useful and the service was prompt and professional. The campsites used by hikers were well maintained and worked well for our purposes. We had a fantastic experience overall. My only recommendation would be to come equipped for some muddy regions of path!

Such a beautiful park with so much to see. Beware that there is a fire ban in the park (except in the cabins while the park is open) so if boiling water was your go-to for hydration you may want to have a Plan B.

One of the best multi-day hikes in the Maritimes Cape Chignecto Trail makes a 50km loop around the park. Two thirds of the hike takes you along the rugged coast and the closing third through the woods on the eastern edge of the park. Spectacular scenery throughout!

One of these most beautiful places to visit in Nova Scotia. Akin to the magnificent vistas experienced along Cape Breton, Nova Scotia's Cabot Trail. Walk-in campsites are available among the 47 kilometers of coastal hiking trails. Day hiking trips to places like the now abandoned ship building village of Eatonville. One can witness the truly spectacle scenic beauty along a rugged majestic coastline with numerous look- offs offered along the built boardwalks of the surrounding cliffs which provide views of the many highlights offered such as the Three Sisters rock pillars. One can also camp at the ADDA campsites in Advocate Harbour which has a restaurant with a great looking menu. One can have a beautiful view from your site be it a camp site or RV of Advocate Harbour and the ocean beyond with the haunting image of the island of I'le Haut in the distance. The town offers the darkest skies for night time viewing and a quiet one can only imagine with the Bay of Fundy so close at hand. A visit to the Driftwood beach is a must offering four kilometers of driftwood piled high and cast ashore due to the harbour's position along the Bay Of Fundy with its highest tides in the world. Another must see is the drive to Cap D'Or to view the surrounding 600 foot cliffs that descend to a pristine ocean where the massive tides of the Minas Basin and the Bay of Fundy meet in a frothy cauldron when the tides change. There one can find a picturesque lighthouse, restaurant and ample parking. All together this is a magnificent coastline and scenic tour unlike any other in Nova Scotia or Canada. A forgotten gem.

I hiked the Chignecto Trail Loop in 3 days. The trail was easy to follow and well maintained. There are some big hills to climb up and down but the views from the top and bottom are well worth the effort.

This is a great hike! Outstanding amount of scenery for a trail of this length. The trail has a few distinct sections:KM 1 - 18 from red rocks to the end of the cape is a mix of pretty easy forest trail and a few (3 main ones) big climbs, roughly 150-200 m each climb. The climbs are not technically difficult, but pretty steep grade. Views are limited on this section compared to the next part, but refugee cove has a nice beach and is a good camp spot. If you start by going to refugee cove day 1, you will get two good climbs in; one at km 3, and one at Mill Brook. But it gets easier after the climb out of Mill Brook..KM 18-33 - the best views are found here on the western coast of the trail. Impressive cliffs and tons of views. The trail here is a bit more technically difficult (roots/some water/a few steep areas) and doesn't have many cruisy" sections.KM 33-36 - moderate terrain into eatonvilleKM 37 - 48 - the 11 km woods stretch says on the map it takes 6.5 hours... but it took about 2.5 hrs and had some easy stretches. Mostly forest

Cape Chignecto is one of Nova scotia's best kept secrets. A wonderful backpacking trail that will challenge even the most seasoned hiker with steep elevation changes and at times challenging terrain. The campsites are overall very well maintained if a bit sparse. The full loop can be done by a fit aggressive hiker in 3 days and more comfortably in four depending on how long you hike for and how much time you like to spend in camp. Your hard effort will be rewarded with stunning ocean views, wonderful ecosystems, and two beautiful beaches at refugee and seal Cove. Please practice backpacking etiquette pack out all of your garbage and leave the trail in a better condition than you found it in order to protect this gem of an experience.
