My husband was away from home working and just needed a good meal! I found the listing for the Board N Barrel and called, a friendly and very helpful man answered the phone! I shared the situation with him and he and his staff went to to work to make the best meal my husband had had in a couple of weeks! It arrived in great time and was piping hot! Many thanks to the good folks at the Board N Barrel

What a wonderful discovery!!! We were in town for a short visit and were looking for a spot where we might find some good food. We went in expecting an old pub but it was fresh and relaxing and the food was so delicious. Portion size was just right, quality and presentation of the food was exceptional - I have never had tartar sauce taste so good (it has a hint of garlic). The servers and gentleman who spoke with us as we left were attentive, friendly and just so pleasant. They had a lot of little touches which add to a dining experience - such as pepper and salt mills, a bottle of water so we didn’t have to wait for a server to go by if we wanted more water, a little oil type lamp, flowers on the table, and the whole place was just well laid out with relaxing colour schemes. Even their chairs slid effortlessly on the floor. It was a strange thing to notice but I was aware of it and it made a difference. We went for lunch but had a peek at the dinner menu and will be going back the next time we are in town. They have an awesome patio overlooking the river that was too cold to enjoy at this point but definitely once the warmer weather is here. Even the washrooms were bright, clean and smelled fresh. Our son even noticed that although they have been in operation only a few years they have already won awards. Well done Board n’ Barrel!!!’

Looks like a dive from the outside, but this is a classic example of don't judge a book by its cover" you're greeted by friendly staff and a beautiful interior. The food is out of this world

This place doesn't need more outstanding reviews, but it earns it!The atmosphere, great service, and amazing food and drink make it awesome. But then you add the setting on the water and they would do well in any large market!I am from out of town and this was my first visit to B&B. One of the owners, Kelly was delivering drinks and stopped a couple times to chat which was very enjoyable.They have it dialed in!

Great food in a great environment. They have some exceptional sandwiches and a really good vegan/vegetarian selection. Portions are sizable and will leave most people satisfied. Strongly reccomend.

I bought a take-away Sicilian flatbread and buffalo hot wings. The flatbread had this amazing yeasty flavour mixed with subtle spices. The hot wings were the best wings I've had in Peace River. I didn't eat inside, but the service was very friendly.

In short, one of the best restaurants I've had in a smaller town, absolutely fantastic! The prime rib was to die for and the charcuterie was amazing. Everything down to the Ceasar salad, was fresh. My veggies I had with my meal tasted like they were straight from the garden. Unreal! It's great to see a place that takes food quality so seriously. Every item we ordered had such a variety of flavors and tasted so amazingly fresh. I can't wait until I'm back in town to try more things on the menu. The patio was beautiful, and the customer service and drink selection was fantastic as well. You will not be disappointed when visiting this place. 10/10.
