Awesome place! Wonderful exhibits & even better snowshoeing (which is included in the entrance fee). It is soon to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll worth the visit any time of year!

A great exhibition in this beautiful building and a chance to learn about the indigenous peoples and community and how they lived. We enjoyed viewing the bison herd (24) at a distance from a viewing area and discovering how the herd is growing. The trails offer some good walking so it’s best to wear shoes rather than sandals. We saw some colourful yellow and black birds (finches?) and were surprised to find so few people walking about. It seemed like we had the place to ourselves. The display of Hoop dancing was terrific- the man ( cannot recall his name) told us the history and how he came to do the dancing and it’s significance. The dancing doesn’t take place everyday so we were lucky.Lunch in the cafe was ok but the service was slow.Good to know such an interesting place is close to the city of Saskatoon. There’s a fun play area for children too.

I’m visiting Saskatchewan from Orlando, Florida and it was recommend to me to visit Wanuskewin. It wasn’t too crowded. We arrived 15 minutes before the hoop dancer so we’re fortunate to hear him speak beforehand and then perform. It was excellent and I feel fortunate that we arrived when we did. I learned so much from the performance and the museum. The gift shop also has some nice local gifts. The restaurant has a unique menu that includes elk, bison and bannock (which I tried for the first time) and we walked to the observation area where we saw the multiple bison in the distance. I’m so glad that we came by and I would look forward to returning.

Even though it is away from the urban area with no public transit access (it’s a pity that there isn’t), Wanuskewin is a great attraction with beautiful people, grounds, and building, and a must-visit in Saskatoon to learn about its cultural heritage and appreciate the deep connection between the Indigenous way of life and the natural landscape, especially before modern urban development. They have tours and activities all day long and multiple hiking trails to keep you busy for an entire day. I spent around 2.5 hours here: had bison stew at the café (~30 minutes), walked the main hiking loop and a little bit of one side trail (~45 minutes, although the map indicated 1 hour), browsed the gift shop (~15 minutes), did the Bison walk with an enthusiastic guide (~30 minutes) and did a quick browse through the galleries (~30 minutes). I had originally wanted to see the Indigenous performance (which was at 1 PM), but arrived too late for that, so make sure you check the activity timings on the website in advance of your visit. Note that the site is applying for UNESCO World Heritage Site designation, and I hope it succeeds!

May 2023 5*Saskatoon is not big city but it has two major attractions. Wanuskewin is world heritage site and the place which has history of thousands of years. This was the hunting and trading place for indigenous. You should book the tour as you can learn about hunting techniques and old heritage sitesBe careful about the lice as I found one next day on my feet. Luckily they are not harmful.

Really nice trails with great views of the saskatchewan river valley. Just know that the trails are free to hike and the $14 is the museum fee! We were not made aware of that and we're charged the full museum fee and we didn't even see the museum, an oversight on our part, but some clarity from staff would've been nice. Some wildlife can be easily seen from the trails like ground squirrels, birds and mule deer. Unfortunately the bison were too far away to get a good look

I had my wedding here in december, it was the most beautiful reception ever! thanks to the team at wanuskewin for putting on the most wonderful day, everything went smoothly. the food was TASTY! smoked white fish and wild rice was DELICIOUS! the staff was so friendly, helpful, and kind. They really helped this day be special. And the fact i was able to have a smudge ceremony INSIDE is the best. And it was actually a very good price! I had 65 people in the Deer Room, it is stunning place to get married. And my international family got to learn about Cree culture by visiting the museum while i was taking photos! perfect place, thanks so much! Lots of nice places to take photos outside and inside. Since it was such a cold day we needed both options!

Like the food. If you eat at the restaurant, you will save the admission for $14/adult.Parking fee is $5/day.There are some bisons far from the eyesight. If you can bring a telescope, will be better experience.

Words cannot describe the experience of visiting this heritage site. Truly educational and highly recommend this place for all, so much to see. I've included many pictures that I took with phone, if you have a good camera bring it with you, the flora and fauna is abundant without to see.
