The Buck & Ear
The fish and chips here are phenomenal. Fish was huge and battered perfectly. Fries were crispy and fresh, and the tartar sauce is a must try! Fresh, light, and creamy sauce. We ordered two of the fish and chips and it took quite a bit of time, almost 30 minutes, after we placed our order to recieve our food. The place was packed the night we went, and the restaurant had a serious understaffing issue. The 3 staff were running around and frantic all night trying to serve the full house and so the service was not as good as it could have been, to no fault of the staffs.

This my first time here as a vegetarian and I was definitely a little worried as Stevston is known for sea food. Everything and I mean everything was fantastic!! The only thing I would say is that the teriyaki bowl which says it came with a miso yogurt cold use a little more sauce or more dynamic flavour..but it was still great.. both flat breads were great..I asked to add jalepeños on the Mediterranean flatbread and I would suggest it as a permanent topping…yummmm! The spicy green beans were sooo flavourful. The waffles were a great portion and so fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back!!! Also the server was super friendly..

When I go to a bar or restaurant in the evening hours I expect lighting to be appropriate. Some might call it Mood Lighting. What I don't expect is the lights to be cranked on at 100% as if it was closing time or I'm in a Costco looking at the meat aisle. Whoever made this genius idea; get a clue. I know it's cool to like try to save some money on some new cool high efficiency lighting or make that big order for your friends business, but this choice is not conducive to a profitable eatery/pub.

We had high expectations with this restaurant because during the pandemic, we did try to order through skip the dishes/ uber and what we ordered was delicious! We said we would try them again but dine in.We were a little disappointed as the chicken tenders were so dry and bland (you can tell from the way it looks on the picture attached). Service was just ok, nothing special.Deep fried pickles were good, hence the 3 stars.

Nath is the absolute best security guard. He is very nice and protective of his community. He is helpful and kind. Nick is the best bartender ever. 10/10 best service ever. Team work makes the dream work.

I’d like to thank our server (Amanda) + bar staff, DJ and the door guys on Nov 18th. Amazing service, DJ was on fire.. and overall great times. Buck team made my birthday a real hoot!!! Plus, we booked a room upstairs.. so the stagger home was short! This might become a tradition.

Been a few years since l have been ..Had the cajun chicken sandwich, with home potatoe chips???. The chips not a smart choice..more like a baked bag of chips.. so stick with what you know french fries.. service was fast and friendly.

Classic pub setting catering probably mostly to Steveston's numerous visitors. While the Buck & Ear might not be the reason to visit Steveston, it is nonetheless a reliable place for delicious pub-grub and a not-bad beer list.Well worth a visit if you're looking for simpler fare and don't much care for standing in line for an hour plus under a blazing sun which can be the case with other, perhaps more notable, food establishments nearby in Steveston.

honestly just an average pub, but the food is really good and the value can’t be beat - all appetizers were 50% off for happy hour on mondays, and we got 3 drinks and 3 appetizers for $40 which was insane. staff was lovely!
