Hassett & Reid LLP

We used Hassett and Reid for a land purchase back last spring. Everything seemed great as we were preparing to sign documents and they were very responsive to any questions we had. After we completed the transaction and we had paid though, we couldn’t get a simple response to an email. We received a land titles form a few month later declaring an interest in the land due to a covenant and we were just curious if it was normal and to be expected, or something to be concerned about – basically a yes or no answer. We never received any reply after sending a couple emails. So I wouldn’t expect any help if you have any issues with your transaction after signing and making payment. I’ll be trying a different lawyer next time.

Would rate ZERO stars if that was an option!!!I decided to go with this firm after shopping around, checking reviews and having a pleasant chat with the first receptionist I was in contact with back in March. REALLY BAD DECISION!I never got past reception even after being transfered to legal assistances twice, leaving voicemails with no return. Plus emails with out proper follow up or even replies.I was in contact months before my closing date... even stating the date of closure. But now they don't have time for a month to deal with my paper work. There was a delay in instruction due to the passing of my mother but there was nothing they would do.I was able to find a firm to take on my case and start working on it today. Not sure how many receptionist there are, but I had a pleasant one originally. Then the rest were all very rude and unhelpful. Plus the last one stated they don't make advance appointments... they have an overload of cases and don't know how to manage them.Overall, HORRIBLE experience and now it cost me extra money that didn't need to be spent.... if only they could just do there job! Bad choice!!! Recommend you find any other firm.

Worst experienced. We are a buyer, we sent more than 5 emails because the seller’s did not follow some in the contract before the possession and they just ignored. 1 month before possession date we submitted everything but they just set an appointment 1 day before possession.. very bad experienced

Jim is great - quick, trustworthy. knowledgeable, kind and informative. While signing the sale for our last house, he went so far as to print articles about tax breaks and outline exactly how to claim our move (moving closer to my office). He’s completed several deals for us and we’re always impressed with his help.

I have been dealing with Jim since 2016 and I have had nothing but great experiences working with him and staff members (including Brandi, Lori, and Savannah). Jim is absolutely wonderful, knowledgeable, experienced, accommodating, and supportive. He is always responsive and willing to help in the most stressful situations. I recall back in 2016 when I was really worried about a mortgage specialist not getting back to me in time before closing for a BC property and Jim’s office was the most helpful in getting answers and documents completed by the mortgage specialist. Also, just recently, even though it isn’t in their normal scope of business, Jim was ever so gracious in helping me resolve an issue with our HOA. He took the time himself to reach out and help us settle on a reasonable outcome. I‘m so grateful to have been referred to Jim’s office and I go to Jim for all my real estate transactions and will. Him and his office are definitely one that you can trust and rely on. I can’t imagine working with anyone else. Thank you for everything!

Jim is extremely knowledgeable and willing to share all sorts of fantastic details to assist his clients when you utilize his real estate closing services. I'll be back when I buy again!

Went here for my first house purchase and worked with Jim Hassett. Was an AMAZING experience. Couldn't recommend this firm enough. They were patient, able to explain everything clearly, very respectful and responded quickly to my emails and phone calls.Very client centered!

Have only ever had professional thorough services through this Lawyers office - Paula is very thorough and a real asset to this office.

I would not recommend. Once they have your money they will be NO HELP. They were barely any help before I closed on my house. They called me 1 week before closing even though I called them about a month and half before to get everything sorted. They then gave me two times that would work for them within 1 week?!? My lawyer was not very informative considering I’m a first time home buyer. A lot of things were not explained and now I have questions and they can’t answer simple emails. Terrible service and the receptionist was condescending and chuckled throughout the phone call because my realtor told me to call them? What a joke. Can’t wait to get my report and be done with them.

Absolutely awesome. Would highly recommend using them. Went out of their way to get our new home paperwork signed because of my complex work schedule. James was so friendly and down to earth to deal with. We will most definitely use them again the future.
