Windsor Plywood

Sales rep hands you forms to email with measurements for the purchase of four doors and then never checks his email. You call and he promises to call back but doesn't. He promises to email later that day but doesn't. Then when you finally do get a reply, then you're told you'll have to wait a week to get your order because they're too busy. Nothing special here. Just notching for the hinges and boring for the door knobs on pretty standard size doors, but it takes a great deal of client effort and patience to get the order. I wish they would have saved me time and just told me at the start they were too busy to take on more business'. They should put up a sign saying we don't need your business' please go elsewhere! I dealt with Windsor in BC and they were great, that's why I went there. What a waste of my time.

2 people milling around Sales counter and both ignored me until I had to call out to them to get their attention.Asked the one that bothered to turn around (the other just walked away) some questions about stain and he was absolutely clueless - no idea what brush to use, said they had no shaker and couldn't even provide me a stir stick. He also made some uninformed interjections to the conversation which basically was a cover to the fact that he didn't understand much but felt like he should comment to make it sound like we were actually having a discussion..Frankly wanted to give 1-start based on that interaction but I didn't check out the entire store nor interaction with any of the other staff so maybe there is something good there i.e. selection of wood and someone who understands it?I try to patron the 'little' guys' vs the big Orange or Blue box stores because the staff of those stores are usually apathetic; I expect and appreciate better service/knowledge at these smaller stores...but this visit was a complete disappointment.UPDATE: went back to get more supplies and apparently working in a lumber yard does NOT mean that staff should understand the different type of dimensional lumber available; in fact, just walk customers vaguely around the yard, pointing at things that dont match what they ask for and then tell them 'we dont have that'...except you do...you just dont care enough to know. -1 starWill not return

I stopped in today to get some wood for a small project, I could not find the dimensions on any hobby wood at some of the bigger box stores. I was assisted by Gary and one of the store carpenters who went above and beyond to make sure I left same day with what I was looking for. I highly recommend this store and will definitely be back!

Went in to look for wood for Butcher Block - was greated by the nicest sales person. He quickly showed me the best products I had found in over a month of looking, advised me on the services they could provide and sold me on 2 of the best butcher block tops you could imagine. On top of that he gave my daughter a couple of free Windsor Plywood pencils which put a big smile on her face! Great experience and could not be happier with the customer service provided!

I went there yesterday looking for a piece of oak trim that seems it was either custom made or discontinued.I spoke with Todd, who graciously offered to make it for me, at a very reasonable cost.I've used Windsor Plywood stores before and this particular location has always been the best for me.Thanks again .

Had an excellent experience here so that I could build a case for a set of vintage glockenspiel bars. I bough Baltic birch, which is verifiably the best plywood available, and Windsor Plywood is definitely the best place to get it. Steve Lynch, the on-site carpenter, was extremely helpful - and he even took interest in my project and asked for met to send him photos afterwards.
