Laura Secord Statue
This is a lovely statue of Laura Secord, famous for walking 20 miles (32 km) from a US-contrilled area in 1813 to warn British forces of a planned American attack. (The War of 1812 was being fought at the time). Thanks to her, nearly 500 American soldiers surrendered at Beaver Dams to the British and their Mohawk allies. Though this is not my favourite sculpture in the area, I appreciate the craftmanship that went into the piece.
